I'm a huge fan of tension rings & would love one someday as a RHR. Just thought you might want to look at the Sholdt thread.
I have a Sholdt semi-bezel and it's very architectural & modern. I love it as much now as the day I got it.
They are a well known designer brand and very reasonably priced. BTW you can buy the diamond thru JA and have it set elsewhere.

I used to teach architecture students and work with architects, and if she is into modern design, I think the ring you chose paired with the 3rd band would make a bold, unique statement. The sholdt settings just don't have the same flavor of modernity, they feel more staid to me. JA's return policy is awesome. I think you should go for it!

I think this tension setting is a great idea if she likes modern bold lines, similar to the Guggenheim. If she tends to lean more towards classical styles, like the Met, I would go for more filigree-like settings.

That's the as architectural as it gets for an reply on rings! Thank you!!
