Put this on hold - opinions

No ASET?

It has a nice faceting pattern but the table is large. Did you request an aset image?

sorry - new here. What should I post to have it evaluated?

The WF Princess stone is gorgeous!

I love that JA one! Hopefully you'll get the aset on that one soon!

Please evaluate ASET attached -

Well, I still think it's nice. I'm sure others will say otherwise, but I think for the money, it's a gorgeous stone. If you're more concerned with size, I'd stick with the JA one. It's significantly bigger than the other one.

Pretty stone but I would look at the radients. (cut corner princess) IMO the radients look better in settings and there is less risk in breaking off a corner.

I much prefer the WhiteFlash stone...better cut and color.

I think flat out objectively, the WF one is a much nicer stone. That being said, the JA one is much larger. Only you can prioritize your wants - if having a large stone is the clincher for you, the JA ASET isn't bad. Personally i prefer the table smaller and that black x in the center would annoy me.

I'll have a look around to see if I can find anything in between - bigger than the WF one but perhaps a bit 'better' than the JA one.

The ASET you posted isn't horrible, but you can do a lot better. The problem is that there isn't much red around the edges, meaning the diamond is lacking in edge-to-edge light return. That's basically a buzzword that means diamonds that have it look bigger. I'd certainly check out the one justginger posted, as you can get up to 3 ASETs from them, and that looks promising. Although to be honest, it faces up a bit small, especially considering the WF one is pretty close to the same dimensions. I would choose the WF one if it were up to me - whiter stone and great cut!

I don't like the big table on the second one, but the first one you linked to is nice. I'd get an ASET on the one I posted, and on this first one that 04 diamond posted. And those would be the three free ASETs you can get from JA.

Be aware though, OP - K color in a princess will be visible. As will J for many people - the color gets concentrated in the corners, where all the small facets have light bouncing around multiple times. If you don't mind, it is an area you can drop down in and have a much bigger stone for the same price. I do want you to know that you will definitely see a yellow tint though.

And as jstarfireb pointed out, the one I linked to is only a fraction bigger in faceup size than the WF one. However, if being able to say, "It's two carats," matters to you, it IS two carats. And $2000 cheaper. But my goodness, that WF stone is beautiful.

Decisions, decisions... :wink2:

Agreed on the assessment of those as well as color. I personally wouldn't go lower than I color in a princess, but color is a subjective preference of course...and I'm not convinced one would see color in a K but not a J, you know? The K/SI1 is decent looking, but I predict the ASET will be great at the top and bottom but leaky on the left and right in a chevron pattern. Let me see if I can dig up anything else...

ETA: OK, I'm back. Not a whole lot at JA that I like. Here's one I'd def check out that's in budget:
http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/H-SI1-Ideal-Cut-Princess-Diamond-1512903.asp - not the dimesnions are similar to the WF stone, but it has a slightly different look, with chunkier facets.

This one is WAY out of budget (like 2x!), but I'm including it just as an example of a stone that promises to have a great ASET, so the OP can see what I'm looking for. The facet patterning is bright and crisp, and as a bonus the dimensions are quite large for the carat weight:
