I washed my emerald ring for the 1st time since april.

I found the emerald fitting is a tiny bit loose. I can fit the edge of a dollar bill under prongs.
And the stone does move fractionlly.
The quesiton is, was it done on purpose? since emerald is 'soft'.
Or should I have the prongs tighen by my jewelers?
