Question about dipping rings with gemstones

I have a little gold-plated ring with 5 tiny gemstones set flush into the band. It is very inexpensive but has a lot of sentimental value. I am wondering whether it is possible to have a ring like this re-dipped without removing the gemstones? The ring is not worth the labor to remove and re-set the stones.

Thanks!

I don't have any personal experience of this, but my sister in law had hers done. She has a yellow gold wedding ring with teeny diamonds in, but her husband bought her a white gold eternity ring. So she had the yellow gold ring rhodium dipped & they definitely did not remove the tiny diamonds. Her jeweler said it wasn't necessary & her ring was completely transformed after it changed to white metal. The plating only lasted for about 5 months though, and then it started to turn yellow again.
