Question for blue spinel owners

Freke, you drive me craazy! I'm likely to come break into your house while you're at work & make off with the goodies. They'll catch me by the DNA from all the drool I'll leave around.

I had some super pics of my one paltry (compared to Freke's) spinel before it was set but a computer crash ate them. One of these days I'll take some of all my babies. Here it is in its current incarnation:





I see only blue in it & have never noticed any shifting in different lights. If anybody sees other colors, let me know I'm colorblind, ok?

I'm glad to see Freke and JF posting their pretties. Freke sure has a LOT and I am partial to the lighter lavender / periwinkle variety.

Found earlier unset pics of mine in the files here (bless you, PS archive geniuses). I was sad to have lost them when my computer went belly-up, nice to see them again.

Right, good memory! Got it from Roger a couple of years ago. Lucky find for sure. I wish I could get a photo straight down on it that shows its fascination -- all I can think of is a deep blue pool, cool & watery, never have seen anything like it. I've tried & tried but can't capture what the eye sees.

Yes, and based on this beauty, the next time Roger had a blue spinel, I jumped thinking that maybe, just maybe (wishful thinking, I know!) it would look like Laurie's, but sadly not at all... It was still snapped up by someone else as soon as he listed it though.
