Hi Danny!

They're spessartite garnets... Harleigh took the photo at a Northern California PS get-together a year or two ago. They're native-cut stones that I bought on ebay from Thai sellers - I have a total of 8 or so that came in two parces. There's nothing too special about the stones except that they're a beautiful color, and lively, and I like them a lot! Someday I might do something with them (put them on a bangle or use them in a pendant, most likely) but for now I just enjoy the chance to pull them out and play with them from time to time.
