Questioning my upgrade

Thank you to Everyone as again. I have found such nice and helpful people here.

I did get a second oppinion on the prongs,and was told the same thing, That it can be done ,but is not recomended.
He said the stones can be set in another setting with smaller prongs,but shaving the existing prongs will weaken them.

That being said, I am stilll not making any rash decisions. But am leaning towards changing my setting.
I have in mind a thin pave setting with smaller rounded prongs and matching thin paved band.
And think that will enhance the emerald cuts,and look more dainty and delicate.

I wont have time to change my ring before vacation,and dont want to go without it,so that will give me more time to decide.

I must say I do adore my emerald cut stones. It may sound corny, but it sees when I talk of changing them, they shine even brighter
to impress me...LOL

I absolutely love your rings, they are just so elegant and beautiful. And don''t feel bad, I had buyer''s remorse, too. I spent weeks just trying to decide what cut I wanted, everything from radiant to RB. I ended up with a gorgeous RB and a few weeks later, I started wondering if I made the right choice. But that wore off and I adore my ring and I''m sure your buyer''s remorse will, too. Though, if you do want to make some changes or get a new setting, I bet you''ll find something absolutely perfect for you. A nice micro pave band will make it look more dainty if that''s the look you want.

Well, I REALLY don''t like emerald cut stones and am not really fond of princess so I was blown away when I saw yours and LOVED the set instantly. Of course YOU are the one that has to be happy with them but I think your hubby did a truely outstanding job picking out the stones. You can easily see they are beautiful and eye clean. I never noticed the way a stone cut like that does glitter as you said. I also don''t think I have ever seen princesses that compliment the center stones as well. Seriously. I am not blowing smoke up your skirt!

I agree you should wear them awhile and see if your feelings change but if I saw you out anywhere I would be commenting on those beauties.

Well I now have another option, Today I feel honored and thrilled.
I just foud out that I can have my MIL''s wedding set. The stones were handed down from her mother.
I thought for sure SIL would ant , but she already has had 2 diamond rings handed down to her, and she would be happy for me to have it

. I dont know the exact specs yet, but it is an .75 ct - 1.0 ct OEC center with (2) .25 sides.
I will definitely have the stones put in a white gold setting,it is two toned now.
I still have not decided to part with my EC set.
Might put new stones in a right hand ring. Just too many decisions

I just feel so honored and priveleged to recieve stones I can hand down someday.
Any oppinions ???
