Hello, for the past two months i have done quite a bit of looking around at local shops, online and in the Los Angeles diamond district for loose diamonds. I am looking for a 1.15-1.25 GIA G,H color vs1 or vs2 with excellent cut, symmetry, and polish. I was up in the Los Angeles diamond district last week and found plenty of nice stones, one that was especially nice is a GIA 1.25 VS2 G color that scores a 1.2 on the HCA scale. Is there anything you see about this diamond that you would make you reconsider? Also if anyone had any comments about the LA diamond district in general and what to look for or avoid that would be great thanks in advance

could be a real winner. can't tell that much by the numbers, though.

I live near the LA diamond district but have bought all 25 or so of my diamonds online.

BTW, what's the price?

What factors other than the numbers would help you out? The only thing Im not totally loving is the location of the inclusions, RIGHT in the middle of the table, here is a link. I am new to reading these certificates but it is far less obvious looking at the stone under 10x magnification than in the vert.

The other stone I am looking at is a 1.22 GIA H vs2 that is really clean and the majority of the inclusion could easily be hidden under a prong, however the jeweler making my setting (different than the jeweler with the 1.25) is asking roughly $500 more. I dont have the specs on this stone but in my novice eyes it is at least as good as the 1.25 I am looking at, I just am trying not to break the bank more than I already will be. This is the most expensive thing I have bought that didnt have four wheels and an engine ;)

For those interested, the setting for the most part will look like this but in rose gold. Side stones will be .15 each G,H color VS1.
