My boyfriend and I are going to get engaged with plain bands (due to our cultural tradition). I will however receive a diamond ring in platinum as a gift during our wedding ceremony. So my wedding ring and "gift" are going to be worn as a set.

Our engagement/wedding rings are going to be the Tiffany milgrained bands.

 I'm totally on the fence about which band to get though.

All platinum? Or yellow gold with platinum inlay?

I'm going with a 3mm band, and he's getting a 6mm band.

Does anyone have any of these 4 bands, please post pictures. And also do you regret anything about your decision?

:errrr: I'm kind of in a rush as he's going to be on a layover at Heathrow tomorrow to try them out and pick our bands. I've only tried the 3 mm all platinum version (and loved it), so I'm kind of worried that I won't like the plat/gold (which is of course the one he likes the most  ).

All opinions are welcome. :appl:

I love the mix of metals as you can mix and match so much other jewelry with it!

The only one I've seen in person is my friend's husband's 4mm platinum, and it is so elegant that it hurts! Based on that I'd say the 3mm platinum for a woman,

Have fun at the Tiff's in Heathrow, but they do have kinda limited stock so you may not get to choose among all 4 in your size.

Thanks!

MissGotRocks, I'm kind of worried the plat/gold version will look a little dated. But I do love it in all the pictures I've seen thus far. There's something special about it.

Mercoledi, I know, I was passing through Heathrow a while back and tried the all platinum version. It really looked amazing. I have called and put a few bands in our sizes on hold for my boyfriend to have a look at, and pick from. I can't believe I'm letting him have the final say in this.

I think they all look very classic and any one would be a good choice. If it were me, I'd go all platinum. If I wanted to add a YG element later, I'd add it as a diamond stacker.

See how smooth that segue was??? NOW --- you are going to *NEED* a YG diamond stacker!! PS says so!! :D ;))

I LOVE that Tiffany band! Get all Platinum! You can always add a thin yg stacker later. Yum!!

Yes, absolutely if you loved the all platinum band by all means get it! Again, it's a ring you'll wear and look at every day so you need to love it!

I am a hugh fan of the the platinum and gold band....I really, really want that band lol.....

Why can't you get the platinum and he can get the two tone one? The bands are the same just the color is different.

My thoughts EXACTLY! I think it would be perfect if he gets the two tone, and you get the all plat. Done ... and done  .

Another vote for all plat for you and two tone for him.

I just wanted to say that I love those bands! I think if you wear yellow gold jewelry as well as white metals, the two tone one would be worth considering. But you can never go wrong with all platinum! I agree that it would be totally fine for him to get the two tone and you get all platinum. They are still the same ring.

Thanks everyone!

I think i'll go with the all platinum.

He's at Heathrow trying them out right now. So i'm anxiously waiting...

I am in the group as well, slight modification can be made on platinum easier than on other combinations! :))

Did he end up getting the bands?

Love this suggestion. All plat with thin yellow or rose golds as you want them on either side. Best of all worlds!

Hi everyone!

Thank you for your opinions. =) =)

YES!! He got the bands. He decided that the platinum would look best on me, since I'll be wearing it with a diamond ring in platinum. The shape of the all platinum apparently looked "better" than the two-toned band, as the two-toned is more rounded (from what he tells me).

He got the two-toned in 6mm, but didn't like it all that much, so he's going to exchange it for the all gold with milgrain. I'm kind of sad about us not matching entirely (except for the design), but I'll get over it. The gold really does look significantly better on him than platinum or white gold. So I can't deprive him of that :blackeye: . Haha.

Anyway, thanks again guys! I'll post a couple of pictures of the bands that we have, for reference. There really aren't many IRL pictures of these rings, which is unfortunate.

The metals not matching isn't as big a deal, but the style matching is neat. Look forward to modeling pics!

I hope you love it! I have the 3mm milgrain Tiffany band and I really love it both on it's own and with my three-stone. It is the perfect width to have presence when worn alone but still look feminine.

Lucky girl, I love Tiffany!

I'd say the matching isn't a big deal--my DH has yellow gold because that looked best with his skin tone, and I have white gold.

Thritto. I think it would be perfect - they're a set, but each person has a little individuality too! :appl: :appl: :appl:

FWIW - for me personally, I would get the all platinum.
