What would you say (typically) faces up smaller, the radiant or the princess? Thanks!

I think a radiant faces up larger, but it is a rectangle not a square so it isn''t really apples and apples.

Actually, I was thinking of a square radiant, so let me rephrase my question... what faces up larger, a square radiant or a princess? :)

I still think it is a radiant because they are less deep. I did a search and the square radiants were coming in around 5.7mm compared to a princess cuts 5.5mm for one carat. Both were smaller than an RB though.

I was kind of thinking the square radiant might look smaller than the princess cuz of the cut corners. What do others think?

As to which looks bigger depends on various factors and the cut quality of each. Look at the diameters of particular stones you are considering to see which will look largest.

I''m going to go ahead and say "it depends." After looking at many radiants, depending on table size (which can vary greatly) and the depth (which can vary greatly) it may face up one way or the other compared to a princess.

The good news for the princess cut is that there are now "premium" cuts available from the likes of WF. One problem I see in radiants is that there is a huge variety to their cuts, with depths ranging from the low 60''s to the high 70''s and tables ranging from the high 50''s to the high 70''s.

Due to this, there is naturally a huge variety in the beauty of radiants, with most of the ones I''ve been able to see in person being less than stellar. My experience has been the ones that "look" bigger have a higher table % and look more dull, the old crushed ice look.
