I don't think I've ever posted a picture of my first born here. Here he is sporting his lil' outfit from France.

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

The following isn't my story but I thought it was worth re-posting here. I was perusing nature photographer Tin Man Lee's facebook page, just enjoying his amazing photographs, when I came across the following among his recollections of his grandmother:

Besides chicken, grandma adpoted a white cat called Bobo from a shelter twenty years ago. Everyday she would buy fresh fish from the market, cook it and debone it carefully for Bobo so that she wouldn’t choke, although we always believed that cat would never choke on eating fish. She treated Bobo better than herself. Bobo was always by grandma’s side. Some years ago, my aunt who lived with grandma was out that day, and my grandma collapsed and was unconscious in the bathroom. Bobo, after seeing all these unexpectedly got out of the house from the window, ran a few blocks, making squeaking noise hysterically to the passerbys and finally to some neighbors. The neighbors recognized she was grandma’s cat and realized that something must be wrong as they had never seen Bobo behaved like that. Finally they followed Bobo, and were able to unlock the door and saved grandma’s life.

Tin Man posts on Facebook as "Tin Man Photography." His pictures are well worth checking out. He posted this recollection on July 28, 2013.

VRBeauty, thank you for sharing this heartwarming story. I love this. And while my kitties could never do that I don't love them any less. Speaking of the kitties...here is dear Tommy doing what he does best. Sitting around looking handsome. Cannot pass up the photo op lol.

Mochiko, OMG your kitties are so adorable. And your red/orange kitty-beautiful big eyes. Love them both! Thanks for sharing the video. :appl:

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

I have some more pics from 2009 at our old beach house top pic and our NY apt middle and bottom pic. Last one is Billy (miss him so much) during my dh's library bookcase project. Darling Billy always loved getting in the middle of things lol.
Hope no one minds me posting these. I have a lot of time on my hands lately ::) .

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

Missy, more cat photos are always good. And I read somewhere that cat purrs are therapeutic and help soothe humans who are unhappy or not feeling well etc, so give your kitties a cuddle!

Love the photos you shared of Billy. He looked like he was a real character! (like all cats). :)

My two are rescue cats, a mom (tortie) and a son (orange). The mom was a "single teen mom" living in the street market here in Hong Kong until a kind lady rescued her. She gave birth to five kittens at the pet foster's home. Happily all were adopted.
Somehow I found that orange cats seem to be slightly crazier and more eccentric. Ours is a needy kitty who demands a lot of attention . His mum is more chill and likes her personal space.

One more!
(PS really is the perfect storm for me -- nice people who also love shiny rocks and love animals!)

Mochiko, your kitty is just precious. And I agree with you re orange kitties. I find that they have very big and colorful personalities and that perhaps they are even a bit smarter than their non orange siblings...
All our kitties are rescue kitties and for the most part a key difference I have observed with rescue kitties is that the majority of them tend to be more needy than the non rescue kitties. My unscientific anecdotal observation only.

Thanks for sharing your pics. I agree diamonds and sweet furbabies make PS a very lovely place to be. :wavey:

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

Kama - Your kiddo is SO cute! I just love that face! I feel like yorkie mixes get the best faces and personalities. Is he very vocal? I have a yorkie shih tzu and she makes little growls and barks and whines that are like a child. She tells us when she wants something, when she doesn't etc.

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

Kama, Did you purchase your beautiful first born from a breeder? If so, do you know if there is way within the Pricescope guidelines for me to get the information. I have a maltipoo and have been considering getting another dog. I just worry how my first born will feel about getting a brother or sister. She is quite spoiled and used to being the center of attention.

Missy, All your babies are cute!!!!!

Dragonfly, I totally agree with you regarding Kama's first born's little face. He is so cute.

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

Thanks VapidLapid! He is a charmer that one. And yes his eyes really do resemble chrysoprase IRL too. Maybe that's why I Iove kitties. Their eyes resemble different beautiful gemstones and that can sometimes change during the day too. It's amazing.

Right now they are all freaking out because of fireworks poor babies!

Thank you Callie!

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

Here's a fun pic from when Francesca was just an itty bitty kitten. She loves to stand up and look out the window on car trips lol. Even still to this day.

And here's another oldie pic. This is around that same time period when she was a little baby.

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

Love the picture in the blinds, Missy, that is so cute and funny! Goose and Clementine have a new favorite spot in the backyard. The birdbath. Doesn't matter if there's water in it or not. Now we need to figure out how to make a cat tree for the backyard that isn't by the fence, so they don't jump over.

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

Kama, your little guy is so cute! That mix always seems extra adorable.

Missy, smiled big time when I saw your baby perched on the blinds! What exceptional balance.

Here's my guy at about 4 months, triumphing over the terrible toilet paper

Ogen is an irish coated wheaten terrier and will turn 1 this month. We waited about a year after we lost Cu Bear and searching around for a rescue. He's a little ball of energy and so different from our first wheatie.

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

There is just ridiculous amount of cuteness overload happening in this thread!

Thank you for the sweet comments about my baby boy :wink2:

Yes, Pico came from a breeder, but I am in Canada. If you are in the area, message me on LT - I have a listing up there under the same username (selling BGD studs and pendant).

We have contemplated adding to our family as well and wonder how Pico will get along with another dog. Most good breeders will let you test out a puppy before fully adopting. There are several great articles online as well. I want another dog so badly, buy hubby will not let me boo.

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

Kama, I worry how my maltipoo would feel about a new sibling. She's pretty spoiled and is used to being the center of attention. I would definitely have to see how she interacted with another dog before making a decision. She goes to doggy daycare about once a week and from what I'm told, gets along with the other small dogs well. However her favorite little dog was getting picked up at the same time one afternoon. I went to pet the other dog while holding her and she did not like it at all. My DH jokes all the time that she thinks she owns me and I'm hers. I'd love another dog. My dogs face looks a lot like your dog. So cute

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

Kelinas, I just saw this in the news tonight. So so cute!!! So happy I got to see a second time. Thank you!!!

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

OMG, the poor sweet doggie. Am I the only one who is a bit distressed she left her dog for 2 years and the dog was so overwhelmed (with happiness) she fainted when her owner returned? I am sure the owner had no choice so I am not blaming her for leaving but I don't know. Something about this doesn't sit well with me. I feel for the poor dog for being without his mommy for 2 years and obviously it affected the dog very much. I cannot imagine how much she missed her owner.

Sorry I don't mean to be a downer and maybe I am interpreting the video all wrong. I am happy they are reunited and that Casey very obviously loves her mommy and her mommy loves her. I am glad they are back. And I hope the owner gets to stay with her now. :appl:

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

I got these girls from "the used cat lot," that is, the local animal rescue: Bella, yellow, now 8, and Friday, calico, now 13. I have had them for a full year now. How could anyone leave them when moving to Florida? Will never understand people!img_5060.jpg

Hi Missy, The news story that I saw earlier stated the girl was a family member. Because she is young and the dog is 9 yrs old I assumed the dog really belonged to her parents and is the family dog. My dog doesn't faint but she gets excited like the dog in the video if I'm gone for an hour. I think a lot of small dogs act like that at least the ones I' have been around. I haven't seen large dogs get that excited.

I'm a wreck when I leave my dog for two days. I feel so sad when I hear about people in the military having to leave their animals when deployed. It's heartbreaking.
