I am on holiday, it is a dreary wet day and this is my first post - what better way to spend time!

Thought I would share my new from old diamond pendants. My mum had such beautiful graceful fingers, her wedding and engagement rings would only fit the tip of my pinkie finger. They lay in my jewel box for a decade until a few weeks ago when I took them to a local designer and asked her to make them into pendants for me. I used a small diamond (about .20ct) from one of her other rings that didn't fit either and went for a 'molten' contemporary look with the diamond set to one side for the one pendant. I have various chains I can loop it onto. It is 22ct. The other pendant is her daisy 18ct/plat engagement ring, just the band has been taken off, it sits really nicely and doesn't flip. I am so happy that I can wear such lovely reminders of her every day.
I have been lurking for simply ages but have not really got too much to share, the rest of my diamond jewellery cannot compete with all the beauties I see on the site! I can 'window shop' here quite happily which is a good thing as there is one store near me that has the most beautiful antique jewellery, without PS I would be sooo tempted to spend there. If and when I do, I have learnt so much, so thanks Pser's I will not be fazed and will know the right questions to ask to get something beautiful.
Here are my two new from old pendants. Hope this works, am well know for my lack of techno skill.

What a sweet way to remember your mom by and have her close to your heart! I love both but the molten one ---- SUPER COOL!! Clever idea - I like your designer's ideas!

Enjoy - they are beautiful!

Thanks Enerchi that's kind. The Molten is cool, it does flip though with the chain fixed as it is so may have to rethink and get a link put on it, or could even use a thin cord, which may sit better for now. Ideally a link that is removable - is there such a thing thing would not look too clunky do you know?

They look beautiful! Really love the idea of taking the plunge & having them altered to your taste to enable you to wear them. That molten pendant is fabulous!

They are both so cool! I love that one is more traditional and one contemporary! Great job! What a wonderful way to still wear your mom's stones!

These are both lovely! I love diamond recycling projects!
It is wonderful to have such beautiful reminders of your mum, and I love that the necklaces are both so different from one another.

Re: the flipping of the molten pendant, I would see if you could have a loop or bale added to the back of the pendant that wouldn't be visible from the front, maybe even 2 small loops or bales so the pendant would lay flat.

I was thinking that same thing - two small loops balanced on either side of the molten circle, where the chain can be fed thru (if you are going to be swapping out chains) or maybe have the chain split and linked permanently to a loop on either side. That would make it flip less, I'd imagine, being evenly weighted on either side.

ahh yes that should work really well, maybe small loops on the back, thanks dtnyc and Enerchi.

I have two small diamonds left from the dismantled ring and another teeny unworn ring so might get similar earrings made at some point. Recycling or upcycling even, makes so much sense considering how much new items cost. And tastes change don't they over the years.

Ooohh!!! I want a molten one too! Super cool. I love yellow gold

Love the Molten pendant! Fabulous idea!

Both are beautiful! The first has huge, blingy presence on your neck and the molten pendant is just a really cool design. The gold is such a rich yellow. I love heirlooms!

WOW How Unique and Beautiful !!!
I LOVE pendants, and I would wear yours in a heartbeat
I love them both !!! they look perfect on you !

I adore both pendants. They're so beautiful! Will you share who made the molten one? I could jut drown in that deep yellow colour!

Thanks for the lovely comments.
Smith1942 I am in the UK, the molten pendant is by Erin Cox, she has some great ideas and is a very busy lady!
I have some other things from her and will likely post them in the the Coloured stone forum at some point.
