Red orangey sapphire??? What is this?

Sapphire or, better yet, corundum, comes in pretty much all colours of the spectrum (red corundum is called ruby). Orange sapphires do occur naturally, although they are rare. The vast majority of sapphires in this shade are beryllium treated and often sold under the name Songea sapphire.

The stone just screams lattice diffused to me, especially at that price. Orange corundum is one of the most often diffused stones.

Its a really pretty color, but I agree with Lady D and Chrono, most likely diffused

Here's a thread about BE diffusion treatment, and many other treatments on corundum (i.e. sapphire and ruby). BE diffusion is introduced in the middle of the 1st page, by Chrono.

The orange you showed would be very rare in an Unheated/untreated sapphire, and because it is both rare and beautiful, it commands a high price. A BE diffused sapphire of that color is inexpensive.
