I have 4 rings that I inherited from my grandmothers. Here are 3 out of the 4:

I thought I had a design figured out, but now I'm not sure. My original idea was to have the wedding sets turned into CVB's entwined Cascabels as shown below.

I have taken the rings into my local jeweler to have the stones removed from their settings. I hope that will help me to have a better idea of what to do with the stones. I am not sure if I want to use the gemstones or not, but I keep playing with the idea.

Any thoughts or advice from those who have redesigned jewelry? I know leaving them in their original form would only lead them to sitting in a box until someone inherited them from me.

I know a lot of people prefer to keep antique pieces intact but If you will wear it more I’d say do it …. I had a ring I inherited that sat in a box for 15 years, once I reset the stone to a pendant I got much more use out of it and felt I honored my relative more that way.

The set on the far left have been in a box for over 20 years now and the other 2 shown have been since 2006. I think it is time for a new life for them.

I saw your other post also. I haven’t worked with Cvb but contacted her for a quote once and got radio silence also after a couple of messages. I ended up working with a local jeweler but I’ve seen people on these boards mention sako for a similar antique vibe or David Klass (he made my pendant) if you have a strong idea of the design you want . I’m sure more suggestions will come… Good luck!
