For FI and my destination wedding in germany, we have our legal city hall ceremony the day before our big ceremony. On our city hall ceremony day we also have the wedding rehearsal in the afternoon. After the rehearsal at around 4pm, FIs parents will be hosting a Prosecco and very light hors d''oeuvres as a get together. The idea was to have a pre dinner time get together and send our guests out on their own for their one night without a scheduled plan. We wanted out families to meet before the wedding day in an informal sense so they can talk!

How the heck do we word that in an invite? The invites will be informal, and simply put in everyone welcome bags. PLEASE HELP!!! :)

I would just be clear with the wording something like- Following the rehearsal, please join us at Location at Time for cocktails and hors d''oeuvres.

Since you are including this in the welcome bags, maybe you could also include suggestions for places they can go for dinner afterwards - making it clear that the welcome get-together is not a full meal?
