I had my first setting done by CvB and had posted it here...here’s the link for anyone who’s interested -
I didn’t pay that much attention to setting details. That is, I just bought whatever side stones were made available to me (NOT by Caysie) and wanted the whole to be done already. But when I came around, I finally noticed that the trap size were somewhat disproportionate to my center stone. Not only that, DSS has set it in- big time! However, the issue of upgrading the center was completely out of the question for my SO as she found the process of the first setting wholly symbolic for the both us. So I thought of ways to resolve DSS without changing the center and entertained the idea of adding french cuts to shank or doing a micro pave shank but still with 3 stone setup in mind. So I went ahead and sought to find the perfect side stones only to be derailed by the whole Enchanted debacle. I never got my money back which consequently constrained reset budget. Anyway, I won’t bore you with details of my search for what eventually became my side stones but suffice to say, it all worked out in the end (the stone search but not the $$
).
Here she is, my loud and proud Mei Mei, named after the ribbon dancer in Kung Fu Panda 3 because I love this scene in the movie and like the character, I somehow can‘t look away from her as in...
