It's time to share some pictures of my recent resets. There are actually three stones that I reset recently, by I had no luck of taking good pictures of my 1.8 MRB set in the Preloved Pricescope halo scroll setting (low lighting and and as a result camera refused to focus). So here are my 2.5 M VS2 Tranny and 2.45 OMC (sold as K SI1, but I think it's closer to N-O).

Both settings came from ebay. I read that blue and purple cancel out yellow, so I wanted to have some amethysts or sapphires as part of the OMC setting. I find it interesting that once set in the setting OMC looks white face up and yellow from side. The difference is striking.

Pictures are not the best, its been really grey lately here in St. Louis.

Oh my, they turned out great! Lovely bling...WOW!

Yes, great settings for your beautiful stones! :appl:

They're both amazing! Do have a pic of both together?

They are really, really lovely. But I'm thinking that they are somewhat similar so you should really pick one and consider sharing the other with us... :naughty: They are stunning, really! :appl:

Gorgeous! They are both stunning!

Both are incredibly drool worthy!!! I especially adore the transitional setting!!! Wonderful finds, InnaR!!

I LOVE that trannie and its setting.

Man, transitionals have really captured my heart lately, gorgeous cut on your's. :appl:

Great results and love the settings.... woohoo! can't wait to see the MRB!

Beautiful, Inna!

I'm curious, how do you choose which one to wear? Do you have certain outfits that go with certain stones? A mood you are in, perhaps?

Great finds! Hope you took advantage of Saturday for these pics before the bottom dropped out. Yesterday I went outside thinking it might be still nice bec of the sun and froze my ace off.

Wow! They are gorgeous Inna! I am a big fan of the older cuts-so much personality!!
Wear in health and happiness!!

Thank you, Ariel, DS (your asscher and setting are to die for), Mom2boys, yennifire, Enerchi and Missy.

Ame, I took the pictures on Saturday, but lack of green leaves and lack of saturated blue in the skies still affect the pictures. I tried to catch some fire under artificial lighting , but my Cannon S3 IS refused to focus (:.

GemFever, it's the mood :). I alternate between few e-rings and few three stones as my RH ring. I pick a combination of two and wear them for a while, while the rest is waiting for their turn in safety deposit box. Then I give them a good Sonic bath and put them in a box and take the next pair.

These were the same thoughts going through my head! Best aspects of both worlds

Gorgeous!!!!

Enjoy your new bling!

Cachette :))

Wow! You are living the dream InnaR! Your new resets are amazing!!!

They are both really beautiful. Enjoy your new rings!!

Great pieces for your collection, InnaR! Love them! And I think your OMC was a particularly killer find - classic OMC's in larger sizes are impossible to get these days - it's a really special stone! 5 years ago, we frequently stocked 2+ carat OMC's, but these days we just can't get them. They're being recut in great numbers - it's a crime.

Enjoy your beautiful pieces!

Erica,
It makes it especially special to hear this from you. One of your older user icon's had an amazing OMC with kozibe all over it. I've been dreaming about stone like that for years. I think that one I have now is quite similar to it.

P.S. I still need to take pictures of three stone I got from you few years back (my first old cut purchase) :).

Both are just stunning! I'm really becoming an antique cut lover and your rings have really pushed me over the edge

Thanks InnaR! There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING, like a great antique classic OMC (cushions are wonderful too, but a poofy, wonky, huge culet, muffin-toppy OMC? Amazing!) The fireworks you'll see off that stone will knock your socks off! The very first antique diamond I ever bought was a 2ct OMC (from Grace via private sale, actually, that's how we met!)

I changed my avatar to give some love to an antique cushion I recently bought for myself - it's squished though, the stone is actually elongated, lol. I'll eventually switch back to my old avatar though, which has the scattered OMC's. :)

I'm totally obsessed with old cushions and OMC's these days!

Inna, I've never noticed the TRADE sticker before with your name. Are you in the trade or is it a mistake? Just curious 8)

Those are both so beautiful! Since you are also in StL, did you have these set locally? I'm always looking for a good bench recommendation. I hope you enjoy these beauties thoroughly!

Wow. I am so impressed with your beautiful collection! I'd love to hear more about the amethysts and how they may cancel out some of the warmth from your OMC.

Erica, I was looking for The one since....since I found Pricescope. And to be more specific, I was looking for the one from your "scattered OMCs" avatar. I think that your avatar affected by taste a lot, along with some picture you posted in the "kozebe effect" thread awhile ago. I think he will help me to get over my OMC obsession and move to something else, like antique asschers :).Going to try and take some fire pictures tonight under dim lighting, to show it's disco ball personality.

GemFever,
I am not in the TRADE, unless buying and hoarding diamonds can be considered as one :). I was playing with my user profile yesterday and added an avatar, so it is very possible that I clicked on a wrong button or something. I'll see how I can remove it.

jill_s,
I have set those locally. A good friend of mine owns "Timekeepers" shop in Clayton and he does all bench work for me. I absolutely trust him and happy with the work he does for me. However, I am not really picky and I don't use 30 or even 10 loop to look for any flaws in his work. I use my eyes only and if something is off, I just go back and he fixes it. I know that he also does custom hand-forged settings, but for the sake of our friendship I use only his setting and sizing services. :)

Rosebloom,
I'll try to explain it (and hopefully will be able to show it in pictures later). I do own few low color diamonds, however I was never fan of idea of "playing the warmth" of the stone. I always try to set them to minimize the tint. I know that there are many threads about how different alloys of gold affect the color, but I did not see a threads about how colored stones can minimize the tint. I adapted an idea used in make up - that blue and purple cancel our yellow (I have purple powder and use it on the days when I did not get enough sleep :)). So I was looking for settings that incorporated amethyst, but did not find any. Then I found the one I have now. What I liked about it is that sapphires are set on the basket and allow for the light to come through and reach the bottom of the stone. The stone is a little too big for this setting, but my jeweler still managed to set it.

I had another setting for the OMC, very similar to the OEC one. But I played with them for a few days and did notice that when placed in a platinum one, it does appear more yellow.

When set in the current setting, it does look very white face up, while looking quite warm through the crown profile view (most of pavilion is hidden in the basket).

I might be totally wrong on my observations, but this is what I see.

InnaR both of your diamonds and their new mountings are amazing! I especially love your awesomely chunky OMC

Those settings are lovely. I really like the idea of the sapphires on the basket making it appear lighter. Very unique and classic..

Beautiful rings! Congrats!

OK, I give up and surrender. It's impossible to take good pictures at home after sunset. They turn out too dark, out of the focus an don't show real colors of the stones. I picked few that are more or less presentable. Next time i'll be taking pictures will be sometime around May-June :)
