#JOTW @Rhino does it Again - Elyque Oval - The only Oval!

Hi all, I have been a PS-r for a couple of months. I want to say thank you for this site. Without it I would have never met @Rhino with August Vintage (AV).

I was in the market for a New Diamond and was finding it hard to choose between a Round and Oval, but then I
Stumbled upon the “Elyque” Oval by Jonathan W. with August Vintage. Boy am I glad I did!

I’m now the proud owner of one of his beautiful, unique cut, Ovals, the “ Elyque “.
It is a 1.51, J, SI and it’s a 3 Ideal-r, if that’s a word.
It is in Rose Gold (RG) and in Jonathan’s setting, “My Halo”.

I just LOVE it and cannot say enough about it.

Beautiful and congrats! I love rose gold, and that's sure to be an oval with amazing performance!

I am always really put off by bow ties, and the lack of it - along with awesome light return and an awesome setting! - is why your ring is really glorious!

Thank you so much for liking my ring. I too do not like bow ties and was told @Rhino was the only one that made an Oval without one.
 
Beautiful! I have an oval ring ordered and while everyone says it looks good, I’m worried I’ll see a bow tie when I finally get it. If I don’t like the stone when it is here, the ring will go back and I’m going to order an AV too. My only worry is that some of these AV Elyque ovals have so much contrast between the furthest ends of the oval that I worry I’ll see a big black line going in that direction (kinda like an opposite direction bow tie). Will have to choose carefully if it comes to it but if anyone has any thoughts on this, I’d love to know them.

I was soooo worried as well. I knew I wanted an Oval, but no bow-tie! The more I read stories on here, the more I worried, until I read about August Vintage (AV) @ Rhino with Jonathan. I will tell you that I wanted a 2 carat and was set on at least a 2 carat. BUT, the 2 carat was out of my price range for the stone I wanted. Jonathan helped me by telling him how much I had to spend. I also loved his “My Halo” setting, so he factored that into the price. Right off the bat, He showed me my Elyque. Of course I was like 1.517, what? But when he showed me the specs and a video of a more expensive same size, I knew it was mine. Especially being a J in Rose Gold! BUT, you can ask him, I would txt him several times a day to ask if he had a bigger stone, or not wanting his setting would it allow me to get a 2 carat, but I had to realize it’s not the carat, it’s the cut! He has mastered and has a patten for his new Elyque. He has done what no one has, no bow tie.
If you are wanting a beautiful, sparkly, scintillating oval, there is no comparison, he will take care of you, I asked for that and I got a 3 Ideal-r.
Now some will say it looks smaller, but believe me, he will suggest things and provide CAD pictures of what he can do, you will be amazed.
I know you said you were waiting, but there is no harm in looking at his website and talking with him. It will definitely give you piece of mind, believe me.
Hope I have answered some of your questions. This is a fun experience and you want to enjoy your diamond forever!

Thank you! Starfacet’s is amazing, it helped me decide on mine. I really feel that the RG and the 3 Ideal-r makes a difference!
I can’t keep myself from staring at it, especially in the sun
