Jolly ranchers don''t sparkle though.

I think the stones often photograph very flat, and it''s hard to capture the true sparkle from these stones. Here''s another picture of one where you can see more scintillation.

Haha true. Fortunately they taste good to make up for lack of sparkle.

These rhodocrosites on the other hand don''t need yummy taste to be yummy! The color is seriously to die for.

Sincerely folks--I know very little about diamonds/jewellery and even less about colored stones; my knowledge pales by comparison to most consumers/collectors here and I wish I knew more! If I could discuss the merits of these gemstones cogently, I would! For now I just have to admire them...thanks for posting them Chrono!

Me too! I am floored and amazed at how knowledgeable PS''ers are, and how they are able to break everything down to chemical composition and place of origin. I am simply an admirer. They''re so purdy and I like to stare!
