I am finally getting a Diamond Ring !!!!
WOW !!!!!
After only 30 years of marriage, now THAT'S something......
Best Valentine's Day Gift EVAH !!!!!!

ahem

....so.... since I picked it out and PAID for it myself.....
DH felt the need to volunteer to pay for a nice setting for one of my CS :appl:
OOOHHHHHHHHHHH YEAAAAAAAAAH !!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, since I will have a nice Engagement ( :sun: ) ring to wear starting Tuesday,
I would like Honest opinions.

Would you rather have a beautiful RHR
or
a third finger left hand ring ?
And Why ?
Any suggestions and especially PICTURES would be NICE !!!!

Congratulations on your upcoming anniversary!! Wow, 30 years, that's very special.

Honestly, I get bored with white diamonds, so I would prefer a beautiful colored stone RHR, or why not a left hand ring that isn't a diamond????

Ha Thanks for the Congratulations !!!

I maybe didn't make myself clear, I am going to have the Diamond Ring to wear
all the time on my 4th finger left hand. That will be nice, to me !!!! 8-)

So I want to have a super-nice color stone ring to wear as well.
That's the one DH is going to foot the bill for.

I just need to decide if I want my CS ring to wear on my left hand
(next to my diamond)
or on my Right hand.

I haven't ever worn a ring on my 3rd finger, so I don't know......
just putting that out there as a possibility !!!

WOW 30 years! Very many congratulations :appl:

Just so I'm clear when you say "3rd finger ring" do you mean middle finger on your left hand - so next to your wedding set? If so then I'd go for a RHR. I change my rings all the time (on my engagement finger) and then on my ring finger on the RH also. I don't (personally) like to wear rings on fingers next to each other because I like each one to stand on its own. If your new e-ring is a white diamond then it's also good to have some colour on the other hand.

I hope I've understood your question correctly! Apologies if I haven't.

EDIT - we were posting at the same time! I think I did understand! Phew!

Yep LD you did !!

I think a RHR would take some getting used to as well....
But I would like to try !!!

Congrats on 30yrs to you and Mr.shiney!

Like LD, I don't like wearing rings on consecutive fingers, but some people really do, so it's up to you. Also, I have an aversion to rings on my 4th left finger - don't know why, but it always feels like the ring is choking my finger, no matter what the size. All that to say, do what pleases and is most comfortable to you. The only requirement is that you post photos!

Many congrats on 30 years! I would prefer a RHR, because I wouldn't want anything to compete with the diamond ring on my left hand.

Welcome to the 30 year club! :appl: :appl: :appl:

Ditto, Yssie! :D

RHR...I dont like wearing rings right next to my e-ring and wedding band...its just too much.

I agree - RHR. I'm one of those who doesn't like a lot of clutter and competition and so likes one ring (or a wedding band and ER) on the left and one on the right. I once went to an art collector's house who had hung many works of art together on one wall. It wasn't like they were a series, it was just random paintings, photographs and prints close together. I felt it was discordant and they competed with one another. Same thing with multiple rings on each hand. Sorry, I'm not too courageous!

But I'm curious, why will it take some getting used to to have a RHR?

And welcome back - we've missed you!

I'd rather wear a ring on my right hand because I wouldn't want the bands to rub up against each other. In general I have no problem with wearing more than one ring on the same hand, just not on adjacent fingers. So a RHR (any finger) or a left index finger ring would be fine, but not left 3rd finger.

Definitely RHR. Wearing rings on side-by-side fingers gives me the pip, plus I find they scratch each other. YAY for your new bling!!! :appl: :appl:

RHR. I wouldn't want to risk damaging a new sparkler that took 30 years to get!! :wink2: (I kid!!) But I do find that my hands feel 'squished' if I have rings on a 3rd finger (either hand) when I have a ring already on my 4th finger.

Me too for RHR. Both rings get to stand on their own that way. Wearing them on next-door fingers makes me worry about scratching them too. Also, strictly personal, but I dislike middle-finger rings; it looks awkward to me. I often wear a pinky ring on my right hand (when not wearing one on the 3rd finger) -- currently have 2, a silver & gold Tiff one w/a ruby & a blue zircon HoW ring from Sally. Anyway, the idea is to let each one sparkle without competing.

Congratulations on your e-ring!! :appl: :appl: I totally empathize -- got myself one (avatar) a few months ago after 34 yrs of marriage. I can tell you this: the old adage about anticipation being better than realization? NOT TRUE!! :D

Ha Ha JewelFreak, then you know what I'm talkin' about !!!!
34 years !!! WoooHooo !!!! And your Ring is GORGEOUS !!!!

It's great to get everyone's feedback !!!
RHR it is !!!

I think it would take some getting used to only because I typically
never wear rings on the right hand. :))

Off to look at settings !!!!
