good luck today, Gypsy. i will be thinking of you!!

Best wishes and fingers crossed for you today!!!

Okay. NERVOUS as all get out. Deep breaths. Thank you for all the best wishes and dust and luck. You all are THE BEST. Okay... 8 minutes. I need to get my butt over to a conference room ASAP.

GOOD LUCK GYPSY!!!!!

I''ve been following your threads and I hope that you get in a better work environment soon! Keep us updated on how it goes. We are rooting for you!!!!

WOW! Thank you KQ.

Well, now I guess I wait.

I was REALLY nervous. At the beginning my voice was high and reedy. And I kept telling myself to BREATHE. I got some of my gumption about 5 minutes in though. So hopefully, it went well. I have no idea. I thought I blew the initial screening interview for this one, but got a call back for an interview with the hiring manager. Another place called, I thought I did well... and they never called back.

So I''m just praying I did well at this point. I really am.

He said that he is conducting interviews for the position through the end of the week. Then he is on vacation for two weeks. So the HR person will be calling in the ''final few'' for one all day interview each. So we''ll see if she gets in touch.

I liked him. I really did. Straight forward, to the point, a little rushed (he had a meeting), but patient when he needed to be. Sounded like an improvement to me. I''ll update the minute I hear anything. And if I don''t by middle of next week, I''ll call the HR person myself. I guess. That''s okay right?

I''m sending waiting dust to you, Gypsy! I hope, hope, HOPE you get it!

Gypsy that sounds like it went very well!! People who interview are used to the interviewees being nervous at the start - it is normal and I think that as long as you looked keen and NICE during those first five minutes, then they are willing to get to know the ''real'' you once you''ve settled in.

At this point you can''t stress, because you have no control over it. Wait until you get the call - I''m sure you will! With all the PS dust floating around for you, you are bound to land this job!!

YAY Gypsy... sounds like it went fairly well! Sending you lots of job vibes until you hear

Thank you both. No, Thank you ALL. I''m covered head to toe in dust! Positive thinkiing!

I''m mentally drafting my thank you letter as I sit here so I can get it done tonight and have it in the mail tomorrow morning.

I hope you get it, Gypsy... I can''t wait to hear you did! Now just relax... maybe take some time to draft your notice to that woman that doesn''t deserve you as an employee.

OMG! OMG! OMG!

They JUST called for an in person interview!!

ALREADY! Man, we need to bottle that PS dust ladies and gentlemen!!

Um. SO EXCITEDDDD!!

In three weeks on the 19th. And she was concerned that I might get other offers and they''d LOSE ME.

Okay. So I didn''t answer that question. I put her off by telling her that I was at my desk and couldn''t talk openly. But I told her I would email her with some information.

SO WHAT DO I SAY???

I can''t close off my options and tell them I''ll stay open. But I am interested. And want to make that clear! YIKES!!

Okay... doing an internal happy dance!

congrats!!!

That was a very quick call back for an in person interview. Very quick! Huge congratulations!

No advice about them losing you. I''d just avoid the topic if possible. I don''t see any real need to address since your already put her off by telling her you couldn''t speak openly. Unless she brings it back up, of course. If she does I''d just say that you are interested in the position and excited about the interview on the 19th and leave it at that.

Okay so I called the HR lady back and told her that I am in the middle of an active job search. But that I am not just looking for ''any'' job, but rather the right job. And that I was very pleased with my coversation with Hiring Manager, and thought there was a lot of potential for a good fit between my skills and his needs so that I wouldn''t be closing any doors until I had explored their Company and the opportunity before me further.

SO... she said that they were extremely interested. That the hiring manager took 3 pages of notes, no red flags, and that he had nothing but praise!!!!! So she wanted to let me know, that if anything heats up with another company, to PLEASE give them a chance because she is worried they will lose me!

I said. OKAY.

OMG. You guys are the BEST. Seriously. You made me get off my rear, stop whining about THE BOSS, and DO something about it.

I hope I can live up to the hype in person.

Thank you my friends. It so lovely to share good news with you all. I feel so often I just share bad. Hopefully this will become a trend. That would be really lovely.

WHEW. Need to type up a nice thank you letter tonight, to mail out tomorrow. And I have three weeks to get all my references and everything in order, and practice my interview skills. I actually am pleased I have time to prepare for my interview. It's an all day thing with 4 different people from 3 different departments.

Gypsy, I am SO EXCITED for you!! If I didn''t live 3,000 miles away, I''d definitely offer to take you out to celebrate the great interview. Yay!!!

Thanks so much Zoe! I''d totally take you up on that if I didn''t live 3000 miles away. LOL. It''s such a nice feeling to get good feedback. I''ve been riding a high since the follow up call. The HR lady was REALLY worried about losing me. I was so flattered, but at the same time I was like "REALLY???" Does not compute. Ahh, I need to work on the self esteem.

Of course she was worried about losing you! You''re a great candidate-clearly very intelligent and responsible! Take that, self-esteem!

Congratulations on the great phone interview and future in person interview!

Hahahaha! So exactly what I was thought. I''m glad you thought it was funny, too! I don''t want to be known around here as the inappropriate/creepy poster!

Here''s the link to the website where there are lots of other funny/creepy/inappropriate bears!

(Apparently they''re from the UK-I think the Brits are better at being dirty than Americans!)

Creepy inappropriate bear...

CONGRATS GYPSY!!!This is WONDERFUL news!!!

If you need help with your interviewing skills you can call me and I''ll interview you!!!

Congrats that is so great! I don''t know if this helps but two books that really helped me with the job hunt were-don''t laugh now-but I got a ton of use out of "Job Hunting for Dummies" I read the second edition by Max Messmer which had tons of great stuff about interviewing including different types of interviewers you might get and how to deal with them. I also have "Freelancing for Dummies". But I think the first would be much more helpful. The other one my favorite of all actually is called "Negotiating Your Salary: How to make a $1000 a minute" by Jack Chapman. That book is so helpful I tell everyone about it. It is a book that will earn its keep by alot. It extensively teaches the skills of negotiating your salary both for a new job and for negotiating a pay raise in a current one. I can''t express how much I love that book.

Sending Luck your way!
