Your story is very similar to mine (I was with my BF for a little over 7yrs before he proposed to me). I also have a x-prong setting and he bought it from WF too!

I couldn''t help but notice the similarities last night as I was reading of one proposal after 6 1/2 years and another after 7 years. I also noticed the two Vatché style settings!!! I thought I was having déja vu!

Me too! I''m reading this thinking, "I know I posted on this thread...where is my post?" But I reallized that it was radiantlover''s thread that I was thinking of.

Beautiful ring!

That''s wonderful radiantlover! Long live long-term relationships! It''s funny... I didn''t think I would be such a girly-girl about the ring and the wedding planning, and everything else...but I am!! Yeah!

Milly,
Your question about why did he wait so long...good question. We were fairly busy this summer, and he said he wanted to make the proposal "perfect" for me, which was very sweet I thought. I have to admit, I did get a bit antsy thinking, "Okay, when is this going to happen?" But when he surprised me with a horse-drawn carriage ride as part of the proposal, I was pretty giddy about it, and got over the wait.

BTW, I really like your ring! I saw it on a previous post.

And thanks everyone for your really nice compliments. I couldn't have found my gorgeous ring without you and PS.

I''m glad I was able to live with my FI for a year before he proposed but it was time. I don''t think I would have been able to wait any longer!!! I was OBSESSING over an e-ring for months!!!

I''m in the middle of planning my wedding and I''m started to stress a little but I''m very excited too!

Congrats again!

Congrats again!

I''m in the same boat. Over 2 years living with my FI, and then became quite manic about an e-ring. I was comparing this stone and that stone, and was going nuts about whether I would find the right one for me. I''m going to have to learn to let go a little bit for the wedding part, and just know everything will be great in the end.

Best wishes to you, and congratulations again!

Congrats on your engagement, boomstick! I think all of us on PS get a bit manic when diamonds are concerned!

Your ring is just stunning--I think you made the right choice on the stone & the setting is lovely! Have fun planning your wedding!

I thought it was just me, or that PS had finally sent me over the edge into some Twilight Zone episode.

Beautiful ring. Congratulations. I love it.

Beautiful ring! Love the setting! Congratulations!

Congratulations Boomstick on your engagment! That''s such a classy beautiful ring!

Thanks all!! I''m so happy with my ring! Did I mention I keep looking at it throughout the day, and moving my hand slightly so that the sparkly brilliance can play off the lights?

It''s really wonderful to get such great support from you guys!! My sweetie FI is also really glad that I''m still bouncing off the walls about my ring

Wow that is beautiful...I love the wider band...That WhiteFlash sure is good! My boyfriend and I have been talking alot about getting married and all that jazz, he says he has a design in mind but wont share with me... How did you (any of you) get your FI/Husband to let you help pick out the ring of your dreams? I know i would love anything he would give me... but any suggestions?

In my case, it was more of my FI not wanting to "screw up", as he put it. Of course, I would love anything he got me, but he knows how, um... let''s just say, selective I can be

I also thought, since it was such an important purchase (and one that I''ll wear always), we should both have a say in what the setting looks like. So we looked at different styles together, and my FI gave his input, and we both loved the simplicity-with-an-edge Vatche X-prong setting. I tried on many different styles, but always seemed to come back to this one. Plus I love the way it sits low on my hand. (Incidentally, the band is the regular size band on the X-prong, which is wide enough for me, but I think the pictures make it look wider than it is. I love it though!)

IMO you''re the person wearing the ring, so you should have some say in the style. Maybe you and your BF can look at settings together, or at the very least you could show him pics of styles you like. Hope I''ve helped!

Boomstick – I’m a bit late with the compliments but I just wanted to tell you how much I amire your setting from Whiteflash. It was an excellent choice. I love it! Congrats again!

I love your ring! Can I ask - is that the Whiteflash X-prong, or the actual Vatche X-prong setting? Thanks!

I was also wondering, what do you think of the matching X prong wedding band?

What type of wedding band are you getting t go with it?

Wow!!!!! It''s gorgeous! Congrats!

It''s gorgeous! Very elegant and timeless. Congratulations!
