As noted, I went with ERD and Mark to create a ring that was similar to a Daussi halo.
These are the CADs
I went back to ERD because I was still set on a more floral halo from the Daussi cushion. I also asked them to 'widen' the basket a bit. This is the result:
And the final set of CADs from which the ring was produced:
I liked the final CAD with one concern that there would be too much metal between the halo stones but was told it wouldnt look that thick in the finished product. So onto the result:
(I have to have the ring resied, hence the ring guard. Also notice the missing diamond onthe left petal)
And the ring next to the Daussi that was the inspiration:
Obviosuly there are differences from the Daussi. The melee is a little smaller than I was expecting and there is a lot more metal between them than I had hoped, and the scalloping isnt as pronounced, but the proposal went perfectly and she loves the ring so all in all we are happy. Overall I'd say the process and experience with Mark and ERD was a positive one. Unfortunately, one of the stones has fallen out of the ring after two days, so I have to email Mark about that (and having it resized). As a side note, Mark included an appraisal with the sales receipt. The appraisal was ~20% higher than the sale price. Is this typical? I have friends whos appraisals are almost double.
Anyway thats the story. It was a rather long and stressful few months but thanks to this board and Mark for all the help in getting it all done. Cheers
