Sad news that Olivia Newton John has passed away aged 73. She battled breast cancer for many years, first being diagnosed at 44. She reported in 2017 that it had returned and metastasised.

Taken from her FB page

Dame Olivia Newton-John (73) passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends. We ask that everyone please respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.
Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer. Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in her memory to the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund (ONJFoundationFund.org).
Olivia is survived by her husband John Easterling; daughter Chloe Lattanzi

I am so sad! She really was a huge talent.
A bright light has gone out.

So sad.
She was truly a bright shining light in every aspect of her life. Grease was and is still one of my favourite movies.
She did so much charity work and was greatly loved and adored by so so many.
She was an Angel on Earth, now singing as an Angel in Heaven.

I found out from Tiktok earlier, and surprisingly to me, I started crying. The end of an era—she was stunning and such a big part of my childhood with the Grease movies. I know she did lots of other amazing work but I’ll always think of her as Sandy, and a survivor. RIP

i got to work and the radio was having a tribute hour and they played her all day
i feel so sad
she waw beyond lovelly but also the girl next door
my condolences to all our Aussie friends today, she was a national treasure
i heard about this photo on the radio tonight as i mopped the floor at work

i was listening to her on the radio and a tear leaked into my mask
growing up in our family she was still a country star
not that we didn't love Sandy too

on the way home i poped into the little grocery store next to work and lets get Physical was playing
i can't beleave she was 73, i thought she was about 50 (which is just dumb because that's my age)

So sad. She had such a burden, having cancer 3 times but she dealt with it and got on with her life. RIP.

She was a beautiful soul..a class act…beautiful inside and out…It’s such sad news…:cry2:

That's so sad. I can't say I was a big fan of her music, but I did like her in Grease, and she seemed like such a nice person.

I did go to you tube and listen to Please Mr Please this morning...

R.I.P.

I have fond memories of Grease to this day.

It was part of my childhood and it came out during my final year in HK before I was sent to UK to study.

I was allowed to go to the cinema on my own to see it by my very controlling parents, and had done so at least 4 times!

The film is one of my favourite musicals to this day, and I am going to see the stage show in London later this year.

DK :cry2:

I had the fortune of seeing her perform live 20 years ago. She was wonderful and I was saddened to hear of her passing.

So sad she was a beautiful person and an Aussie icon. Our city was lit up in pink on Tuesday night to honour her and all her achievements. A state memorial is going to be held also. Being a Melbourne girl in the beginning, it will be a fitting farewell. Olivia has left a wonderful legacy behind with her Wellness Centre here and was truly loved and admired by many.

Such sad news. I went and listened to “I Honestly Love You“ when I heard the news.
