Rose cut diamond - what side to have facing up

Hi guys

I seem to be posting a lot tonight.

I’m going to have my rose cut diamond offset into a metal band (not sure what metal) but I don’t know if I should have the rose cut side set up the way, or have it set on the reverse as you get great sparkle that way. Have attached a couple of (not so good) photos to see if it helps.

All the rose cuts I've seen are set flat side down, pointy bit up - is that what you mean by reverse? Rose cuts are different from other diamond cuts in not having a pavilion or flat table and sorta being all crown if you know what I mean?

I mean, should I have it pointed side set up, or have it pointed side down? The rose cut is not totally flat on the bottom, but has facets. So thinking of having it set that way instead. You can maybe make it out in the photos.

I can't see the bottom in the photos - I thought it was a standard flat bottom rose cut. The standard setting is flat bottom down, pointed side up. But maybe see which way sparkles the most? You don't have to set it pointed side up just because that's the more usual way

I cant see the pictures you took that well, is the double rose cut what you have?
Set it either way you wish - such is the benefit of going custom!

If the pointed top is what is in the first picture and the flat bottom is in the others - set it with the pointed top up. The upside-down look looks to me like a really badly cut RB.

Haha. I love them both. The carre cut grey diamond is going into a bezel set ring for my husband.

It seems to be that having the pointed side down brings the most sparkle. But the rose cut facing up seems more unusual.
