Here is the setting I ordered from LOGR.

LOGR cushion.jpg

I customized it for an 8.5mm cushion, rose gold, and upgraded the diamonds to full-cut, G,VS quality.

LOGR RG1.JPG

The workmanship is decent. It's not flawless, but I wasn't expecting perfection. Sitting with the 2 morganites: left one is pinker but SI2 quality, right one is more yellow, but the faceting is superb. There's another thread floating around about these.

One of the corner diamonds is dark, but after louping it, I don't think it's the diamond. I may have my jeweler clean it, and if that doesn't help, maybe have it removed to see what the issue is.

ETA: i thought this pic showed the dark one, but I guessed wrong. It's very apparent in other upcoming pics. Actually, I think this one was supposed to show that the inside needs polishing. It's hard to tell here, but it's not polished at all. Again, I expected that after reading other PSer's LOGR experiences.

That looks really nice, these Ebay vendors are starting to look like a good option to me all the sudden. I was very skeptical at first, but you guys have shown me tons of good examples.

However, you should get it checked out just to be sure =)

On the hand in different lighting: combo incandescent and natural.

Okay, here you can see the bottom-left corner is a little darker than the rest of the halo.

RG LOGR2.JPG

Better shot of dark corner. I louped it and the diamond's fine - must be polishing?!

RG LOGR3.JPG

Otherwise, the setting's pretty nice.

RG LOGR4.JPG

Here it is with my yellowish morganite.

RG LOGR5.JPG

The rose gold definitely makes it more pink.

RG LOGR6.JPG

One more of the yellow. Sorry my pics are so obnoxiously huge - I''ve resized them, even.

RG LOGR7.JPG

Side profile. Also, you can see that the gallery/basket is a little wonky - one side is more square to the finger, and the other is more sloped. However, I think only I would notice that.

RG LOGR9.JPG

With my included, pinker morganite.

RG LOGR10.JPG

Another.

RG LOGR11.JPG

This stone is actually very well cut too, but the inclusion (sort of needle-like) is reflected around the stone.

RG LOGR13.JPG

So, I'll probably set my yellowish morganite in this setting, but I have to wait until 2 more stones arrive this week, so I can see how they look in rose gold.

Sorry for all the pics - I know it was a ton!

Dear Valued Customers,

Lord of Gem Rings sells natural gem stones and solid gold jewelry. Since the gems are not synthetic, they will have minor variations, as do all natural products, which can be seen under close inspection. While we cannot promise absolute perfection, we can guarantee that we provide you the best value for money. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, simply return it for a refund, no questions asked.

To safeguard your satisfaction and assure you of the best possible price, we also offer a 30 day money back guarantee: not 3 days, not 7 days, not even 14 days, but a full 30 days to inspect your Lord of Gem Rings products and compare them with those of other merchants. To judge the value of our products, please take them to a reputable and knowledgeable jeweler who will give us a fair assessment. Some jewelers have been known to mistake fresh water pearls for salt water. Others do not know how to correctly measure diamond weight. If you get an unfavorable report from a jeweler, please get a second opinion. If you feel the item differs from the Lord of Gem Rings description, please contact us and we will provide you with more detailed jewelry information.

Lord-of-Gem-Rings professionally handcrafts every piece of jewelry listed on eBay. If a piece is customized according to your specifications, then it is custom crafted just for you, we are unable to refund the customization fee if you decide to return it.

Sincerely yours,

Lord of Gem Rings

That would bother me =/ I change my mind, because you asked for better quality

I think the ring is gorgeous, as are both of your morganites! Can''t wait to see finished pics! I have a set of morganite earrings set in rose gold with diamond halos, and it''s such a pretty look. You''re going to love your new ring!

Ryon, I knew going into this what the risks were. LOGR charges $249/ct to upgrade the diamonds. If you want to customize the size for a particular stone, they add a non-refundable $30 fee. It''s this fee that you cannot get back if you return it. And like I said, I don''t think it''s the diamond, I think it might be a polishing issue. Under 10x, it looks like the metal is dark, not the diamond.

I really like the rose gold look, will you set it at an angle like your picture or squared off?

Ryon- LOGR i think is a great place to get a RHR for a nice value, yes there is some variations, but overall good quality for your bucks... The customization fee non-refundable, I totally understand, and I have lost $40 from them before, because I customized something (not semi mounts) and just didn''t do it for me, but i was fully aware, it is better than keeping something that cost $450 that I did not truly love and would not keep.

Thanks Vespergirl! I would love to see your morganite earrings - do you have a thread?

And just for fun, with an 8.1mm round amethyst.

I understand where your comming from, but she stated other problems as well =(

It is good for what you paid I will agree, but I just don''t seem to believe they would sell some of the things they do for so cheap. Maybe they just put them together really fast or something.

If the jeweler approves though (confirms its nothing serious) I will change my mind =)

The morganite will be set squared-off. I just couldn't get it to sit straight in the setting.

And Ryon, I'll keep you posted about what my jeweler says. They actually did put this together really fast - China has really industrialized jewelry-making. Heck, even shipping was really fast - they sent it on Friday, and it arrived today!

It is a really nice ring though, I got to set a 7x7 square cushion aquamarine here eventually for my gf =)

They have great feedback at LOGR, I may look into in the future. I just don''t like the idea of just putting it together so quick, the quality will almost always be an issue.

I completely understand how you feel, Ryon. And frankly, I''m glad to know you don''t just take the cheapest route when it comes to jewelry - I''m sure a lot of men would. For something special for your GF, I would be more concerned with quality too, and I probably wouldn''t go the LOGR route for an ER. Then again, my current ER (3rd setting) is in a $700 setting from my local jeweler.

Its not an Ering just a simple gift =)

Okay, a "simple gift" is something made out of bamboo or paper, lol.
