Hello all,

I know this is more of a diamonds forum, but I wondered if you lovely ladies would be able to help...

I am searching for a simple rose gold wedding band- something dainty, so probably 2-2.5mm.

We live in London, and it would be preferable to be able to see the rings in store prior to purchase. I hear that Cartier do lovely rose gold- I love that pink/peachy hue...

Does anybody have any photographs or hand shots that they can share to help me with my search?

Thanks in advance xx

Hello!

I live in London too and I bought my wedding band from www.weddingrings-direct.com.. There aren't many jewellers in London who sell rose gold and I randomly saw an ad for wedding rings direct in "Brides Magazine" and the 18k rose gold colour looked perfect
I too prefer light/peachy rose gold. I own a Cartier rolling ring and the rose gold of my wedding band is very similar to Cartier rose gold. The company were also super helpful when I wanted the ring made a bit thinner and didn't change me any extra.

These are a few photos of my wedding band:

It's the D-Shape Profile 2mm ring but I asked them to round the outside edge out fully so that the dome of the D had no "sides"... sorry that doesn't really make sense! Let me try and draw a picture of what I mean...

This is what I mean!

JuneRose, I absolutely adore your set! That band is perfect with your e-ring! :appl: There is something so elegant to me about a simple timeless style and beautifully made rings. The rose gold just makes it perfect!

JuneRose, thank you for your reply! I will definitely check that link out. Your set is absolutely gorgeous!
I have noticed too that rose gold isn't readily available in London, that's why I thought the only way forward is Cartier. Thank you for giving me another option!

Sorry to butt in....when purchasing a rose gold band, which is better, 14k or 18k? Pros/cons? Thanks!!

Eta: Summ, a lot of PSers have had good experiences with eweddingbands.com.

18k is more subtle rose. 14k is more pink. 14k is stronger than 18kthough.

This is good chart someone made that sort of shows the colour differences between 14k & 18k:

18k is more commonly used for fine jewellery, but as nielseel said, 14k is slightly stronger than 18k because it has less soft gold in it. with rose gold though I would base it more on what colour you like than anything else.

My pleasure! Cartier rose gold is divine though so they are definitely worth checking out! Another London jeweler I really like is Lucie Campbell on Bond Street -they do a lot in rose gold.

I think you have to define 'stronger' when comparing karatage. 18K is denser, more pure gold (75%) than 14K (58%); so 18K may show scratches more easily, but will probably outlast the 14K wear-wise over the lifetime of the ring. Also, copper is softer than nickle, so the big difference in density, brittleness, scratchability of 18K White vs. 14K White are not the same for rose (unless you factor in palladium white, which is much more malleable than nickle white).

I prefer, and wear, 18K rose because I like the color and the density. But there really isn't a 'better', just a 'what's right for you'.

I have walked by Lucie Campbell a couple of times, and always stop to drool at the window display - will definitely check out their rose gold :) Thanks again.
