Round-Cornered Rectangular Modified Brilliant?

Hello, all!

I asked this question in SMTR when showing off my new engagement ring (

) but I don''t know if it got lost in the shuffle or if you can''t tell or what...but my question is this:

on my GIA report, the shape and cutting style is listed as "Round-Cornered Rectangular Modified Brilliant" and I, for the life of me, cannot find any website or forum that explains what type of cut that really is. I mean, obviously I don''t care that much, since I LOOOVE my ring and won''t be trading it for anything, but I feel dumb when people ask me what type of cut it is. I wanted a cushion, and my mother and FH (who went shopping for it together) told me that that was what this is, but now I''m wondering if it might actually be a radiant?

I know this is a weird question, but I am just so curious and very new to all this rocky-talk!

Alli, my stone is also listed as a round-cornered rectangular modified brilliant on the GIA colored diamond report. However on the outside label of the report envelope it is listed as a radiant. I have always called it a cushion shaped radiant. Actually when I first saw the stone I thought it was a cushion.

First off...your ring if beautiful. Reminds me of a radiant-cushion hybrid. Your fiance did a great job of finding a replica of the rectangular lucida IMHO.

Check out this link...view the 10th post....yours would be #12 only rectangular. Perhaps your facet diagram will be similar to one of the ones listed.

Cravin My Emerald Cut--that is amazing, actually; my facet pattern really looks like a combination between the round-cornered square modified brilliant and the radiant...crazy!

I do think my ring is very similar to the Lucida (it''s not a perfect setting like theirs is, and I know the cut is different), but it has the same effect I really wanted looking at it from my overhead perspective...

Hi! Your ring sounds beautiful! Where can I see a pic ?

Mine is a radiant and I think it is listed as rectangular modified brilliant on the GIA certificate. Maybe the round cornered....brilliant is what they call a square cushion???
