i have desided to look more kindly toward the Duchess of Windsor, ive been doing some deeper thought, David was completly unsuited to being King and Mrs Simpson did us a big favor
what would have happened in WW2 if we had had a nazi symathetic king ?
I think the PM and the archbishop of Westminister and the royal family knew that Edward Vii was not going to be a good king and Mrs Simpson became the scapegoat, which was ok because David did love her and she did mighty fine out of the arrangement and we got Bertie and Elizabeth

Playwrite Noël Coward said that a statue should be erected to Mrs. Simpson on every village green in the land, because in extracting Edward she had saved the nation from disaster

I think the Duchess was a very self motivated and cunning woman who did care for the Duke however not to the extent that he adored her - he idolised the very breathe she took.

She certainly was not pretty in a idealised way but was eye catching with her fashion and jewellery style. The jewels were amazing!

I definitely agree Daisy that the Commonwealth came out on top with the end result.

Prince Albert is absolulty loaded and they live in Monaco where the super rich lavishly display their wealth

if their marrage is unhappy for what ever reason how about getting him to buy her a new piece for every outting and then she only wears it once

With due respect, if I were in an unhappy marriage, being gifted nice jewellery etc. is not sufficient to keep me in it for long without the issues why the marriage is failing being addressed.
