Hello,
I am looking for an engagement ring for my girlfriend. She wants a sapphire center stone. I saw this company http://www.thenaturalsapphirecompany.com/ Is this company trust worthy for sapphires? And is there a company that anyone can recommend that has princess cut sapphires? Most sites have round cut sapphires.

Also, if there are any other sites that people recommend with good pricing for sapphires and good reputation are welcome.

Thanks

Do a search for The Natural Sappphire Company using the search function in the upper right or google site:pricescope.com and you will find references to the virtues and vices of NSC.

Look in the recommended vendor sticky note above to find vendors that pricescope users have had good experiences with.

To name a few for sapphires:

1. gemfix
2. spectral gems
3. flawlessfacets.com
4. Mastercutgems

All of these have some inventory for you to peruse.

You may also want to contact a custom cutter if you are set on a princess cut stone. Square-shaped sapphires are less common than rectangular and oval gems, and princess cuts are even less common. So you may have to find someone willing to accept your custom request for a princess cut stone, in which case it should take you several months to receive your stone.

Princess cut sapphires are rare and could take you months to years to find the right one unless you settle for the first one you finally find regardless of quality. The natural shape of rough is not conductive to that shape. In addition, the risk of the 4 corners getting chipped is very high.

Finding a square (or close to square) cushion or cut-corner will be far easier than finding a princess cut stone. That said, square is still hard to find because of the natural shape of sapphire rough, as chrono mentioned.
