Hello All,

I am new to the colored stones community. I would like to get a wedding day gift for my fiance and I know she's always wanted one of these. However, I do not know if it is cheaper to try and buy the Sapphires and then give them to a jeweler to make the ring or try and buy one already done.

Ideally, I would like a ring just like this one from BGD: http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/wedding-and-anniversary-bands/eternity-bands/the-yogo-18k-white-gold-5390w18

But I am not willing to spend that much. My budget would be around $1000, is that realistic?

I appreciate all the help I can get. I am seeking advice on where I should buy the stones from, how much the stones may cost, and the feasibility of my budget.

Thanks in advance!

I think it's unlikely that you could get it for under $1000. The small marquise diamond are actually a lot more expensive than the same carat weight in round diamonds. When I had this ring made several years back I think the marquise diamonds came out to just under 1k by themselves (I had purchased the sapphires separately). A more affordable option is the one with round diamonds in marquise shaped bezels.

Daniel M made me a 3/4 eternity (14kt, 2mm wide, the sourced the tiny sapphires), but the price was before gold went sky high.

Mine was about $650.

Another similar style from them, unknown price:

But getting marquise diamond and sapphire eternity for $1000 is probably not feasible - marquise diamonds are hard to track down for a decent price.

Thanks for the information. I did not know that the marquise diamonds were that hard to find. I should try and find out how much she wants marquise and if I can substitute rounds.

Thank everyone for the great advice! These are all great choices. I am still in talks with BGD to see what they can do for me.

Hi Spartan, here is a photo of mine, it is almost 2cts total, and the diamonds are FG/VS. I have LOVED it from the first time I opened the box (and shhh..it was less than 1,600) :saint: Oh, and this seller has alot of different options and styles with sapphires. Good luck to you. Let us see what you finally do get.
