Hi all!

I'm about to purchase a sapphire for an engagement ring, but noticed in one of the photos it had a lot of inclusions that almost look like little bubbles.
It is an unheated stone.

Could you guys have a look at this pic and tell me if this is something to he worried about or if I should go ahead with the purchase?

Thanks so much!!Screenshot_20210325-144320_Gallery.jpg

Does it come with a reputable lab report?
inclusions are to be expected in a natural sapphire and are not a matter of concern unless they are surface reaching feathers though some might find a heavily included sapphire less desirable.
However, lab grown sapphires can have air bubbles in them. This is a telltale sign of flux grown lab sapphire.
It matters because a natural untreated sapphire might be worth $5,000 while the almost identical lab one is worth only $50.
Both are Corundum, both will wear very well in an engagement ring but you definitely don’t want to pay the $5,000 price for one worth $50, that’s why reputable vendors and /or a reputable lab certificate is important.

This would probably get more attention in the colored stone forum (lots of colored stone experts over there).
(Luckily @Bron357 saw this)

You might ask admin to move your thread to the colored forum (or leave it here and see if you get more input).
