Hi everyone!
Attached are 3 photos of a pendant that was just re-configured from a tight flower-like design to a snowflake-type. Put together, in both its incarnations, by goldsmith/designer John Dixon, the piece consists of approx 9 carats of various shades of pink sapphire. The stones, all of which were advertised as Padparadscha, were purchased between 2006 and 2007 and are set in 14k gold. Though gemological evaluation later revealed that only a couple of the stones are actually close to the true Pad "lotus blossom" shade of pink, they are all sapphire material, a few of which were shown in testing to be actually "untreatred." The cut on all of them, if I recall is a "modified Portuguese", which gives the stones a lot of pop and sizzle. While red and pink have never been my favorite colors, I love the way these look and John's positioning of each stone makes them even more special. They may not be "ideal" or necessarily "top color", but they are beautiful (in my opionion) to look at and wear. As always, all comments are welcome.
Shanti,
Leslie
