Sapphire

could be beryllium heated. beryllium changes the color during the heating process.
 
Or it could simply be a lab created stone.

ETA: After looking at the rest of his items I think it's just a lab created stone. He has other large perfect sapphires. If they were real and IF etc he'd be asking much more. Also, I don't buy the part about these being from his personal collection of 20 years. And he's selling bright green which I know isn't a natural stone.
 
Two possibilitites:
1. Super dark sapphire - the stone could be flooded with light, so that instead of showing blackness, it has some blue flash. You can see the reflection of strong lighting below the stone.
2. The sapphire has been diffused, which also falls under heat treatment.
