How can we do it? If I click on the video it simply gives options about Adobe but nothing about saving the file! Help!

Are you talking about ebay videos, like Tan's?

Yes but not exclusively those. I have Adobe on my computer, I've got other programmes but I can't save successfully :(sad

Actually, that's not true. I can save them but the quality is awful.

Download the flash viewer software because you can't view or really save without that. It' awesome software, easy and quick to download, and free. The quality of the videos are retained, and you can pause and stop the video, or make it faster, slower.

http://www.eolsoft.com/freeware/flash_movie_player/?fmp

I just right click near the video and pick the option "view source." That will give you the source code for the page. Then do a search on the source code for "swf." That is the extension of the video file. When you find it, you will find the entire file path, and name. Copy it, without the quotes, and open the software, and do a "file" then "open from web" and put in that whole file path and name that you found. Then you can resave it with the software to your hard drive, by doing a "file" then "save as."

Hope that helps.

Here's what the flash player looks like.

Thanks TL. I think there must be bugs in IE9 that I'm using because I can find the link but then despite having downloaded Flashplayer, it fails to open so I can't get any further!

Never mind - clearly it's not meant to be!

I think you need to click on the video you saved off, if you have any swf video, and then choose "open with" and then pick the flash player.

I don't get the option TL because the flashplayer and/or shockwave are not there to be opened. Looking at the internet this is a common problem with certain operating systems. I've tried all the solutions online but none have worked. After 6 hours of trying I'm admitting defeat :D

That's rather odd, so sorry you're having difficulties.

A huge thank you to TL who has been uber patient with me and has sent me link after link to try - finally, it's worked!

You're a real gem TL (untreated of course)!!!!!

I KNOW I should be as diligent as the two of you in the quest to create and preserve photos/videos/articles of our favorite topic, but I'm just so grateful you're both around...

 Actually, speaking for myself only, I'm just organised organised organised so like to keep records of everything. I used to be incredibly diligent and had a speadsheet of all my gemstones/jewellery with buying prices and valuations but ......... in the past 5 years I've not been as good! It's actually really interesting to look back and think "wow, did I buy that for X"! Or, "did I really buy that?" :(sad

If you use Internet Explorer or FireFox, the easiest way for you to save information is to press: "CTRL + S".

Then there will appear a pop-up window, asking you where to save it. Choose location, "Save as Filetype: Complete Website". This will save all information available at the website you're watching when pressing the buttons, including video's, pictures, and all other information. And everything will be found in ONE single folder! Pictures will also be saved, even if they're "Copyrighted"! :appl:
