These are what my "placecards" will look like.

votivecards.jpg

Under my centerpieces will be a black & white runner, like this and table will be sprinkled w/ red rose petals. Still debating whether to use silver chargers. Also, favors will be red chopsticks engraved w/ our names & the date.

damask runner.jpg

The girls will carry flowers like these, but more white, and no berries. And mine will be like my low centerpieces (big bouquet of black magic & cherry love roses).

We LOVE LOVE LOVE our photographer, whose company will also be doing our videography (actually the same videographer Dani used).

Here's the thread w/ our engagement photos: Scarlet's engagement Pictures

These are my (ok, these are Bee''s but mine are the same) wedding shoes. They are the Manolo Blahnik Sedaraby in RED! YUMMY. My favorite wedding purchase so far!!!

And my FAVORITE surprise for my guests...a vintage photobooth!!! We're have double sets made; one to go in the guest book and one for guests to take home.

No joke, your wedding down to the table runners is exactly what I would do if I were having one! Everything, I mean everything is spectacular. And you two are gorgeous!!
Tell me more about the "placecards"... are the names on them done with stickers or markers...??

Beautiful. The placecards, oddly enough are some of my favorite ideas of yours. Just lovely!

Well, I''ve seen them done 2 ways. The first is all the info is printed on vellum and then affixed to the votive. The other way is to print on clear labels and stick them on that way. I''m leaning towards the second way b/c its easier and I''m tired at this point.

I actually went back and forth on the idea b/c they are such a hassle, but I really think they''ll be gorgeous, especially under the hanging crystals. WISH I could take credit for the idea but I found it on the Knot!

Of course you did. LOL.

I find a ton of ideas there, I just found this idea about pens for the guest book on there today myself. Hope you don''t mind my posting it into your thread. I was just so excited about it. Silk flowers and green floral tape. I don''t venture beyond the Northern CA local board unless I''m just doing a search for something because I think the rest of the boards are scary, personally. But the knot is great for ideas.

ROFLMAO. I imagine you can just take a Bic pen, pop off the little cap at the end. Insert silk flower stem then tape the entire thing down with green floral tape. But that''s what occurred to me when I was looking at the pic.

Not to continue to threadjack but every receptionist desk in my medical buidling has a different floral arrangement of those things, its hilarious.

Okay i''m officially jealous. This is what I really wanted but we just can''t afford it. Your wedding is going to be fabulous!

Stunning dress, jewelery and I love the hairstyle!!

My wedding is Oct 4th and I love the pieces you have, maybe you''ll be parting with them when you''re done?
emsmile.gif

Honestly I''d love to go to a store and try them on.

Thanks Violet. I don''t think she sells them to stores (not that I know of). Let''s try to figure out a way to ''talk'' and we can discuss me parting with them.

You should model for us!
I''ll have the final pieces by the beginning of May...I promise I''ll ''model'' them then...stay tuned!

Great!!! I''m going to wait to see your model shots before I move forward with anything. Yay!

Hey I forgot the sales person took one picture the first time I went...these are different earrings from the ones I bought but the same bracelet. I think these may be the same length as the one gypsy wants.

OH WOW. Those are amazing. Just amazing.

Yup amazing!

So questions questions, are they heavy??

Did you try on the bigger ''cuff'' bracelets as well?

Scarlet! Everything looks amazing! Well done on getting it all organized! I''m envious!

Question though - how are you making those runners, or where did you find them? I''ve seen that pic before but I can''t figure out the best way to get them.

The dress, the jewellery, the decor....all STUNNING! Your wedding will be magazine worthy!

Ditto!

Everything looks so beautiful. I can just imagine how breathtaking the hanging crystals will look in the light of the candle placecards!

Originally I was going to go w/ these but I sent the picture to my saleslady who sold me the dress and she thought they might be a little too much for my dress. After trying them on again, I agreed.

Honestly, I don''t remember exactly how heavy these were...but I know if they were TOO heavy (and I typically only wear studs), I wouldn''t have considered them in the first place. With these, there is a lot of "air space" so that probably makes them a little lighter. The ones I purchased are VERY light (and it looks like the ones Gypsy posted only have those 2 side bars) so they should be fairly light as well.

Violet-do you have any cuff in mind? I tried on like 15 bracelets in total. I think the one I got was the "widest" though. Most of the ones I tried on could be fitted (see the clasp). I didn''t try any that were actual cuffs b/c I have really really small wrists and would have been floating in them. I originally wanted a cuff but the "fitted" look of these actually looks better.

Hope that helps! Please feel free to ask more questions!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the ones you tried on. But I agree it would have been too much for your dress.

They look longer than 3 inches though. I will have to ask how long those are to get an idea. So lovely. thanks for modeling.

Thanks!

As for the runners, I actually found a place in NYC's garment district that has similar fabric (it's actually more white space, less black, and the black is actually velvet). It's VERY pricey...I bargained the guy down to $10.50/yard. Luckily my aunt is a fashion designer so we're going to give her the fabric and have the runners made at her company.

BUTTTT...someone on weddingbee just had these made recently...

Making the runners

Unfortunately, they look like a pain in the butt to make them...wish I could help! Didn't Mandarine have damask runners - or am I going crazy???
ETA: I just checked. She didn't. Ries had FULL Damask tablecloths and I think she's in Canada...maybe you can find out from her where she rented them?

I don''t remember - she definitely had damask accents, but I''m not sure about the runners. I have square tables so in my head I actually wanted 4 per table - but I think that will keep me sewing for AGES!! Anyways, sorry for the threadjack.

LOVE your stuff though! So excited to see how it all comes together!

Don''t worry Scarlet. I''ll figure it out. I''m good with that kind of stuff.

Thank you for being so sweet and helpful though. I really appreciate it.

Wow. I love everything! Gorgeous dress, flowers, venue and other decor. Don''t forget to post picture after the wedding, I can''t wait to see it all come together!

Wowie scarlet!!! Everything looks so beautiful! I was at a holiday event in that particular ballroom at Bridgewaters. It''s gooooooorgeous and HUGE. It has that great terrace that you can step out onto and look at the docked ships. Your wedding is going to be amazing.

I want a photobooth so badly but I have NO room in my budget. You''re going to have SO MUCH fun with that. Oh, we''re going to have chopsticks as our favors too! I don''t think we''re going to have them engraved though...just a pretty design.

When does your dress come in? I''m so excited for you!!
