Re: Scott Kay diamond and platinum wedding band for my husba
Thanks Sakura!
I don't have a lot of experience or knowledge with how things are done typically, but I was able to actually watch my jeweler doing most of this work. Their shop is a funny setup -- they have the main store with all the display, then behind the counter right in the open they have three benches for their three metalsmiths. And they do all the work right there using their hands. I heard a lot of scraping with a sharp tool, rubbing with cloths... I don't even know if he used any machines at all. Anyways, all by hand. And he knows I am particular so I think he took extra care. It took him a couple of hours to complete. I would not have thought they could make is macro-perfect, and was not even aiming for that, but I agree -- it looks amazing even in super zoom! Charmy told me that it is possible for a great metalsmith to refurbish platinum to like-new. She has done it before with second hand stuff. So I thought I would give it a whirl. And I am very happy with the end results.
I will be sure to wrangle some hand shots from him once I give it to him
And a proper photo shoot. I had to snap those ones when he was out in the five minutes free time my kids gave me
Thanks Sakura!

And awesome that your DH likes a little bling, and awesome choice!!It's very elegant and "manly" - but your handshots don't count
