Screw back or tension backed studs?

I have sensitive ears and screw backs just irritate my piercings to the point where I can't put in any earrings. Tension backs have been fine and the amount of tension can be adjusted.

Do you have to have a special post for the La Pousette backs?

Yes, I have included a picture of a post and disk. The post may have one or two indented places for the disk to stop in. You may slide the disk past the click stop to fit as snugly as you wish, but when it is pulled out it will click into the indentation unless you apply pressure to the two nubbins on either side of the disk.

I'm surprised by the number of people who don't like screw backs. I've had mine for 7+ years and had never had an issue. The only time they cause any trouble is if I leave my earrings out for more than a few days (my holes start closing up REALLY fast). And then they do hurt a bit to get back in. But they don't get tangled in my long hair. Nor do they unscrew themselves (well, a little bit, but not a huge deal to tighten them up).

I can't stand screw back earrings. They are hard for me to get on and off plus they hurt my ears. Every pair I've ever bought that were screw backs went back in weeks to be changed to friction backs.
