Has anyone here ever tried Seattle Sutton? its a diet meal plan that you can get delivered (fresh) to you home 2x a week or you can pick it up. I love the idea of having it delivered to my house. Its prepared fresh and not frozen stuff. From the website and mailer I got it seems to be well balanced.

With summer coming, I''m weighing more than I would like

We just booked our vacation for August and that mean bathint suit in front of my family and the way I look now I''m dreading that part of vaction even though I love to go on vacation.

I tried weight watchers but always seem to have trouble with the planning and end up eating my poitns in junk food.

I have a coupon for Seattle Sutton and was wondering if anyone has tried it and what they think?

I have not tried it but my office manager has...she started it maybe 8 months ago and lost about 40 lbs. so far (her goal is 100). She just told me a few weeks ago, though, that she is going off it. Her reasons were that "sometimes you just want a bratwurst," and "once you go through a few 6 week cycles you start feeling like the food is boring and predictable." She thought the most important thing she gained from it was portion control and how to figure up calories for the day and stick to that, and also how to incorporate more fresh fruits and veggies as snacks instead of junk food. Also, she did join a gym at the beginning of her weight loss quest and that has stuck for sure, she likes working out now and says she feels a lot better since she started being more physically active.

i can''t say enough good things about seattle sutton. i lost 40 pounds in around 5 months and it was the easiest weight i''ve ever lost. no shopping, measuring, cooking etc. if you stick to it pretty faithfully, the pounds will drop off. also, i liked the fact that you don''t have to sign any contracts or anything. i say try it for a month and see how it goes. i think you''ll be pleased.

i guess my question would be after you lose the weight, how do you plan to keep it off? when you get the meals delivered and all that, do you plan to take an active role in researching why you are eating what they are delivering and how to continue it when you lose the weight? as someone who has recently lost a little weight, and reached and exceeded my goals, it has been far harder to maintain now that i CAN be less disciplined, than it was to actually be uber-disciplined and lose the weight. funny to say that but true.

so i would imagine that the whole 'get meals delivered' thing works awesome if you can do it forever like celebrities do. but if you only plan to do it until you lose the weight, then think about your long-term maintenance plan. i think that is why so many of those diets like jenny craig don't work super long-term because unless you learn what you should be eating and why and can be disciplined about doing it forever, you'll end up yo-yo'ing and on different plans to try different things.

for me bottom line is portion control and eating more whole unprocessed foods like whole grains, fruits, veggies, and less junk food...i would imagine if you started scrutinizing how you are eating and cutting out 1-2 things a day you would drop weight just as easily as having meals delivered. they say that if you drink cokes or similar that even just cutting out one a day can add up to something like a pound of weight loss a month. maybe your goal is more than 1lb a month but that's just one example. it's about calories in and calories out. anyhow good luck whatever you decide!

i have kept the weight off for over two years now and that also has been relatively easy. eating on the s.s. program for a few months is like a lesson with a nutritionist. most importantly it teaches portion size, and the right things to eat. it has also helped with meal planning because it''s easy to incorporate many of their meal ideas into everyday life. s.s.is a great way to jump start weight loss and keep it off. it''s worth a try for sure.

Thanks for the replies. And good for you Tina!

I know the right things to do to lose weight and all the weight I gained was during pregnancies close together. But since my youngest is 3, its time to get it off! I have not gained anything just wanting to lose the excess.

I am under so much stress right now in my life that I really am just looking for an easy no brainer plan that is guaranteed to make me look better by August but also healthy, no fad diets for me.

I ordered and my first delivery is coming thursday morning right to my home. I am so excited :)

Tina, is the food good or is it bland? Honestly at this point, I dont'' care. I use to be reallyl thin and fit and I''m tired of being a little bit chunky with my goal in reach but not getting there. I do excercise, I just eat too much darn it!

amy, i found the food to be quite good. as you know it''s fresh and never frozen, so that in itself makes it much better than any other program. i didn''t find it to be bland at all. the only advice i would give is to stick to it pretty faithfully and you will see the pounds drop off.
if you''re doing the 1200 calories plan and find that you are still hungry sometimes, add maybe a 60 calorie no-fat yogurt snack to tide you over. also, i don''t know if you drink wine or anything but that is definitely to be avoided while on the plan. good luck and keep us posted.
p.s. my daughter is another success story-she lost 50lbs in a little over 6 months.

Thanks for the info. And great for your daughter too!

I did order the 1,200 plan. Weight dropping off fairly quickly, fresh tasty food. I can live with that. I''m expecting the portions to be tiny.

Were you alway hungry (and your daughter too) or did you get use to it after a while?

i wasn''t too hungry on the 1200 calories but if i really needed a snack i would look for something under 100 calories. plus, i don''t think i drank as much milk as they suggested so i could substitute a snack for that also.

Hey! Late to chime in, but I did SS for ~4 months and really liked it. The food was very good and it was fun not to have to plan it all myself. I only lost a little weight, but I wasn''t working out at all and wasn''t always good about eating healthily outside of the plan (totally my fault). It was a nice way to learn about what to eat without feeling forced to do everything.

Some things I thought about being on it:
-loved the convenience and the portion control, but eventually was bored of some of the meal repetition
-portions for me were great, only occasionally did I feel like it wasn''t enough (and yes, I think it took me a week or so to get used to it)
-missed cooking for myself, and knew eventually I needed to learn how to enforce my own portion control
-definitely don''t eat it in the container...its much more lively if arrange it nicely on a plate
-loved the flexibility of suspending it whenever i left town for a week for work

I''d love to do it again as a kickstart, or when I know i''m too busy/stressed to do the right thing. Or when I win the lottery, but then I''d just hire a chef

Good Luck!!!
