At the end I chose the 0.44 since was a good average size.

Thank you very much, kind community of pricescope :kiss2:

Wonderful choice! I hope you'll come back to share photos!

Hey hello, sorry last minute doubt

if I think the other one is too small, would it be better
or
?

Or am I just stupid?

Sorry I am just unsure

I prefer this one.

Why not open up your options of consideration even further?

Since you said initially you wanted to stick with D or E, then why not the E VVS1 posted by @DejaWiz. You were also initially worried about something being too large, but this one at 5.5 mm should be fine. Not too big, but not too small, IMO.

I think we are going too up in size.
She is a 27 years old girl that never wears jewelry so I don’t want to risk giving her something too big.
I am super doubtful about 0.44 being too small and 0.50+ being too big but maybe I am overreacting to final decision

Do you know her ring size? You can use this website to see what different carat sizes look like on different ring sizes and band widths.

There is an odd phenomenon we call DSS (Diamond Shrinkage Syndrome). The first time you put a new stone/ring
on you're "Wow, it's so big!". Two weeks later you're like "This is just the right size", and two weeks after that you're
like..."I wish I had gone bigger." It happens so fast.

Anyway, I think you should go with .5 or more to help with DSS (my opinion). The good news is that you can update
later through Whiteflash if your GF/wife feels like she is ready to go bigger.

Also, wondering what size her finger is...that can also play into the "how big it feels" phenomenon.

Bet you never knew it was this complicated! ;)) Seriously, if it all seems overwhelming you can just ignore this post. I
dont want to make it any harder for anyone. Best of luck!

As they say go big or go home! Even if she is 27 and you are in Europe, so am I, a 0.6 something would be an ideal size for the first stone. In my opinion you will regret going too small. I would go as close to 0.6 as possible and you can even go over that.

Agree, her finger size will really impact how large or small the diamond looks. Then knowing this,

You can use this website to see what different carat sizes look like on different ring sizes and band widths.

This should be very helpful to you.

It's a bit overwhelming I have to admit.

She has 54 mm (2.12 inches for pals from America) finger circumference

Edit: the ring will be also taking a bit of space. It's 100% custom design
Edit 2: ring will be created in platinum or palladium

Looks like she is close to size 6 3/4 or 7. That's on the bigger side (I wear a 6 3/4). You can go slightly bigger and have it still
not look too big (IMO) .5ish would be good

I see your setting does give the stone some more presence. Did she pick that out? To be honest (to me) it looks more like
a Right hand ring (or would it be left hand ring in Europe) then an engagement ring. Just my opinion...you go with what you
think she would like.

She didn't really pick that out but speaking about engagements of friends she clearly said that she likes these kind of "braided"/"interwined" rings.
She has particular tastes, it's not super uncommon here this kind of rings but it's not even the most classical one

To be not too big I am evaluating
A) https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-di...r-if-clarity-round-excellent-cut-sku-a4643644

B) https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-di...r-if-clarity-round-excellent-cut-sku-a4643632

any clear winner with D color?

Compared to original one from Whiteflash (0.44) are they worse in quality? (Like: it's bigger but a bit less bright or bigger and brighter or same quality etc)

I would not go to 0.6 honestly, or it will end up to be 1ct soon :lol-2:

p.s.: for 0.54 there is also this one but has been suggested against

Sorry for the dash of negativity, but I did want to mention (in case you hadn't seen it), that there's a strong resemblance to an eye or the evil eye motif and doesn't really ring true for braided types.

I'd look at designs that involve the words "bypass" and "twist"

The IF clarity is going to really inflated the price tag, so I would highly recommend VVS-VS1 to get just as clean to the eyes as any IF/FL, unless there is cultural importance for the extreme IF/FL clarity.

For better price per carat, please have a look at these ACAs:

Do you think the 0.55ct is better than my previous 0.54 and 0.56 ignoring completely the price?

the 0.5 has cavity inside that triggers me a bit

Frankly at around 0.5 carats and at normal viewing distances, any WF ACA D-G IF-VS2 are going to look indistinguishable to most people. In side by side comparisons in person small cut and color differences may be noticeable between them, but I doubt there will be any strong preferences of one over another.

Here are the two that you linked in post #44 and then a .50 that @DejaWiz linked. (if you want to see them all together).

I agree with @0-0-0 that any WF A Cut Above stone like these are all going to be hard to distinguish between. They are tightly
vetted and their angles and percentages all fall within a tight range. If knowing you have a D/IF is important to you then
I suggest one of the ones you linked. If that's not a high priority then take a look at some of the other ones linked.

I like the 0.56 but you can't go wrong with either.

I chose the .55 one :D due to smaller table
I looked at it and I was pretty confident even if it was not IF :)

I think overall it looks better on her finger than the .44

YES!
So glad that you picked that one...fantastic 40.8/34.5/55 combo.
