I'm a total newbie and would like to buy a simple sapphire solitaire necklace (no side stones). I have about $1000 in Amazon gift cards to do it with (long story). There are two vendors who sell on Amazon, but only one with a BBB rating, so I'm leaning toward that one (GemsNY).
These are the two stones I'm considering (both very different):
http://www.gemsny.com/sapphires/0.97-Carat-Square-Sapphire-SU2653ASQ/
http://www.gemsny.com/sapphires/1.06-Carat-Round-Sapphire-S156RD/
Can I get a few expert opinions? I've done a lot of reading about what to look for (color, inclusions, treatments, etc.) but still don't have a lot of confidence in what I'm looking at. Do these stones appear to be what they are advertised to be (quality-wise especially)? Does their listed price make sense? RGL doesn't appear to be a recommended lab on this forum, so I'm not sure what to make of the reports. I also don't know how to tell if the cuts are any good.
Any expert opinions would be much appreciated. Thanks.
