Seeking Thoughts/Opinions on this e-ring EC from JA

It has no crown...

And so that means what? Is it a failure? I am new, and am asking for thoughts to help me make good choices. Please explain! Thanks !

It's an emerald cut and they are harder to choose "by the numbers / the papers" than rounds. Google "emerald cut specifications site:pricescope.com" and use the search here to see what threads turn up. There is a "cheat sheet" for rounds, but I don't know what the rules of thumb are for the step cuts like Asscher and emerald cut.

Good Old Gold picks great Asschers. They might able to help you find an emerald cut.

I found this, also:
Basic guidelines for inital screening but the step cuts need images and to be seen to be evaluated:
depth 70% or less
table 65% or less
crown height 10% and above
+ an ASET image

I like that solitaire style, by the way. :-) I tend to prefer simple settings for the step cuts.

I'd second calling Good Old Gold to find you one. My asscher they just found has excellent polish and symmetry, and I think you can do better than "good". Another poster here just bought an asscher cut by the same cutter, and it was also an excellent stone.
