Thank you @mrs-b for your very sensible reply. As someone who is also very early 60’s, I find the assumption that one is ‘old’ and not of sound mind at this age quite staggering - unless of course, the lady in question has actually been diagnosed with mental incapacity.

I don’t have a daughter, but I know my DIL would say that she has no expectations of receiving anything from me, and if I wanted to sell my jewllery, then it’s entirely my choice, unless of course, I was being ripped off.

I inherited nothing from my parents, and didn’t expect to.
