setting a high dome cabochon stone - problems?

Would there be a problem with setting a high dome cabochon stone?

It's dimensions are: 10x7x7mm

It's a wello opal.

My Ethiopian opal is about that high, and I haven't had any trouble getting it set. Here is a link to my ring. My designer used a bezel instead of prongs, due to its height. There shouldn't be a problem, as long as the sides of the stone have been cut at a good angle (aka, not too steep).

I don't think so - you are going custom, right? Sugarloaves are extremely "tall" and yet can be set without issues so I think yours should be fine.
