Setting for cushion cut diamond?

Hi all! I ended up choosing a 3.35 carat yellow cushion and am deciding on a setting! I had originally been thinking 3 stone with trapezoid sides, but now I’m not so sure about the soft sides of the cushion contrasting with the sharp traps on the sides and I’m wondering if I should consider a solitaire or halo ring instead? I’ve also seen it recommended to go with half moons instead but if I go with a three stone I do prefer the tapered look of traps compared to half moons. What are your thoughts on cushion cuts with trap sides? Please share any pictures if you own a ring like that!

I think it looks quite striking with the traps, I don’t have anything similar I could offer for a photo .. but I came across this and though I’d attach as it’s similar to your concept:

The tapered baguettes offer a slightly different aesthetic that I also think is lovely! But think your choices would make for a substantial showstopper!

I think both a good options. I don't know if the baguettes will be enough of the type of coverage you are looking for. I love the first image. I would do halo only if you are absolutely in love with a halo. I think you should stick with your 3-stone.

I almost bought this ring because I loved it so much, but I didn’t and I kind of regret it! Maybe it gives you some ideas of what you do or don’t want for your diamond. The center cushion was around 2.75 carats I think.C19C8F88-1A58-4A3A-BB26-34F4663E7FE1.jpeg

I like the traps! I might make sure that the traps are tucked in enough that you dont see the flat sides of the traps (that are up next to the cushion). Things
look different when they go 3-D.

I think a halo would be pretty though.

I’d be tempted a very high colour halo. The contrast in the colour of the diamonds all around should bring out the yellow in the centre stone more.

Personally, I think your diamond is gorgeous and it will look amazing no matter how you set it. Having said that, I too prefer the look of traps over half moons.
Here’s some idea of how it could look.

Your yellow cushion diamond will look gorgeous with the trapezoid diamonds as side diamonds! I also saw a beautifully set yellow diamond with floral side stones (marquise and pears) at Tiffany's as part of their Victoria collection, however the exact ring and setting aren't on the website.
