Setting help?

Hi,

I'm looking to get just an inexpensive setting that I can do myself for a pendant to give my young daughter. The problem I have is that it's a pear aqua that is 9.9 x 5.9, so I don't know if it's possible to buy a stock setting that will fit.

If anyone has suggestions for me, I'd greatly appreciate it! Her birthday is 1/24 so I have a little time, but definitely not enough time to get a custom setting so I hope that a stock can be found!

I tried to edit, but couldn't...I'm guessing this is asking the impossible now that I've spent the last hour scouring the internet. All I can come up with is brass or silver plated, with the exception of a couple of trade only websites. Oh well, thanks for reading.

I would go to your local family-owned jeweler and ask them to order you something. There are a lot of premade Stuller pendant mountings that could be bought.

Another source would be your local beading and jewelry making store. They should have silver findings. This online store has do-it-yourself findings. This silver pendant mounting fits a 10 x 7 mm pear:

Thank you all for the info! Would I be able to use a 10x7 setting for the 10x6 gem? If so, it really opens up my options! I'm sorry that it took so long to get back to the thread, it's been a busy, fun filled pre-birthday weekend for DD...which mean I'm TIRED!

I would call Fire Mountain Gems. I just posted it so you're aware that DIY settings exist. I would look for a local bead shop and ask there.
