Update as the stone has arrived.

Here are a couple of pics of the Amethyst and it is gorgeous :




Having the stone in my hand, I now have second thoughts about the horizontal asymmetric bar setting.

My reservation is that, with my chunky/chubby fingers, I could benefit with settings that sit long on the finger, like my EC diamond, EC aquamarine and oval ruby diamond cluster rings.

Here are inspiration designs that I have in mind, and the final design will have a modern take/interpretation: bezel-set the amethyst, with a plain and wider shank, and no millgrain!







I particularly like this one (without the millgrain):


It will be some time before I have the spare pennies to set the stone, so plenty of time to decide on the setting.

Probably, however, I dislike claw/prong set, therefore, it has to be a bezel set regardless.
