I've finally decided on the diamond I'd like, ( voila - http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/11115/)

But am now having trouble with the setting.. I love the warmer stone, and have an olive-ie skin tone, so yellow or rose gold would be best.. I'm partial to rose but the entire process is daunting, especially since I'm buying from a distance.

This is the setting I'm leaning towards:

So..thoughts!? Yellow gold or Rose gold?

That is a very pretty setting! Normally I prefer yellow gold, but I think for that particular setting it would look wonderful in rose gold!

Has GOG shipped the stone to you yet? I would have them look at it and see what kinds of undertones it has. They could place it in a RG and a YG and take some pics or a video for you, even though it isn't the setting you pictured, it may give you an idea of what compliments it more.

Thanks Audi Lover, I'm really leaning towards the rose but its just such a big decision for me!

GOG was very kind to make me a video of the stone on a rose gold setting, I did love the stone on the rose gold, but I'm constantly second guessing myself. I'm not having them send me the stone because I plan on having all the work done elsewhere. I live in a rather rural area so its easier that way.

As a side note GOG has been UNREAL through the entire process, I would HIGHLY recommend.

I vote rose gold! It will look gorgeous!

Hi, OP. You mentioned you live in a rather rural area. Would you still be able to visit a jewelry store to try on rings in yellow gold and rose gold so you can see it IRL? And I've read that there's different shades of rose gold, ranging from more pink tones to coppery...so that's another thing you may need to consider. Personally, I prefer the look of rose gold and I think it'd go great with such an intricate, vintage-y setting!

I would do yellow gold, simply because rose gold is so trendy right now. I love rose gold, but I wouldn't want it for an engagement ring. But that's just my opinion :)

Thanks so much for all your insight!

I have tried on rose gold and it does tend to compliment my olive skin more, but it really depends on the tone of rose gold. The tone ofthis ring would be a bit more of a warm/yellow as opposed to a peachy or pinky, which I prefer.

MissK8, I agree, this is my main concern with rose gold! I want a timeless, classic ring and I worry that rose gold is a bit of a flash-in-the-pan sort of thing? I do love the tone, but would hate to regret it in 5 years!

Thanks so much for all your helpful insight! For reference, this is what the comparable Bev K rings in rose gold look like;
