Thanks, nebe,

Charlotte was nude in the shower scene at the hotel, when she opened her mouth!!

That was a really funny bit, poor Charlotte.

As for the names of her little girls, there''s a famous chef over here called Jamie Oliver and his daughters are called Daisy and Poppy which I find adorable, so I will admit to liking the names.

I knew a Summer and Autumn in one family and May June and April. Some people are a bit weird.

I would have liked for her to have a boy. Her character tended to be a bit pollyanna on the show and overall she seemed to have it all, where she got the money from pre Tre I do not know, but still, I always liked her even though she had less dimension and seemed almost too perfect.

i loved it!! i cried throughout. whether is was a sad cry a happy cry or a laughing cry, i was IN TEARS. for me the theme was OMG. that's ALL i kept saying through the whole movie.

somethings i wasn't crazy about -
it moved sooooo fast. i felt like the didn't develop areas they should have and developed things they shouldn't have. like where was harry throughtout the movie? and steve and miranda - much much to underdeveloped as far as his incident.

i could have sooo done without samantha's dog. i don't think that was her AT ALL.

i also thought they made charlotte a bit dumb. and i don't think that was consistent with her character in the series.

charlotte and lilly. it's like lilly was always there, but nothing really developed with her character. i think they could have had more interaction with her.

but the thing that upset me most.... ALL the giveaways in the trailers on tv. you watch the commercial and know exactly what's going to happen TO every character. charlote = baby. carrie = crazy wedding & loss of big. samantha & smith broken up. steve = cheat. it was all given away. BOO.

never the less, i booo hooo'd the entire time.

oh - and i didn''t like that her and big ended up married at the end in a way. i dunno. in the series a memorable line was big saying to carrie she wasn''t the marring kind. and sure enough her and adien didn''t work out. so i thought with big''s 2 failure marriages and carrie not seeming the marring kind... the courthouse wedding just didn''t fit.

also, the bag borrow steal plug in the movie - could have done without that too.

I saw it Friday am. (and H went along!)

Loved it - every single frame. But as much as I loved the series and I know this show was

about JSP, I wanted the movie to include the other 3 a little more, but then again, I didn''t

write it. I guess it was all about Carrie and Big.

Did anyone else notice that SJP was the only one who didn''t do any nude shots?

For the life of me I ''think'' Charlotte did, but I can''t place the scene.

I agree, Cynthia Nixon, could have looked better. But considering the time of life

her character was playing, I guess it fits that she look droopy. But she did have a few

shining moments.

I want the swimsuit Charlotte had on - the pink one! Loved it.

carrie was against doing nude scenes from the beginning. she didn''t do any in the series either.

I teared up multiple times in the movie.. But I think the time I was the worst was when Carrie ran to Miranda''s apartment before midnight on New Years.

I loved that even though the movie was about the girls relationships with their men, it also really focused on their friendships with each other.

I love love love love loved the movie.

Saw it last night, DH actually suggested we go since we''d watched the entire series on DVD together. I really liked it and I teared up at so many points too. I actually thought they did a good job with the pacing and how they managed to condense events without making them seem too rushed. I especially liked that all the characters remained true to themselves in the end, and that the bond between them all was just as important as the various romantic relationships.

Minor gripe though: Holy product placement, Batman! Seriously, was there a minute that went by in the movie without a plug for some label or product? I mean, the TV show was just as much about fashion as it was about sex or NYC, so I get that. But when even the end credits song listed off every major designer you can think of, it''s a little over the top.

agreed. from the purses to the shoes to the (multiple) wedding dresses.

Hm...I loved the series, but I must be the only one who thought the movie was meh. I did laugh and I did cry, but somehow they movie didn''t do it for me. I would have loved it if she didn''t end up with Big in the end. I liked that she did end up with him at the end of the series, but just think enough is enough already with this guy.

Still, it was definitely worth seeing!

I loved the movie, but I can''t tell if its because it was truly a great movie or because I was soooo happy to see the characters again. That''s what I say to people that asked....if you love love loved the show, you''ll love the movie for the pure fact that its your girls back again! However, seeing it 3 days after getting engaged, I about had a heart attack at Carrie and Big''s wedding drama. I wanted to call up FI and tell him that if he doesn''t show up to our wedding, he will lose valuable boy parts. I think if I was a little bit more emotionally stable on Friday after having such a wonderful emotional week, I would''ve been less of a spaz about it. Here are some general observations/opinions:

I didn''t really like Samantha''s storyline, but I love her sense of humor. Taking care of a dog isn''t in her nature.

I loved Carrie''s apartment re-do!

I want a closet like the one Big builds for Carrie.

I DO NOT want a bird in my veil next summer.

I loved the little girl who played Lily, actually the TWINS that played the character. They are adorable!

I don''t know if I could''ve forgiven Big, but I also thought that Miranda should''ve forgiven Steve. Isn''t that nuts?

and finally...

I want to see it again!!!!

I just saw it tonight and absolutely loved it :) it was fantastic I laughed, cried and oggled all the goodies and even fell in love with LV, the bag she gave her assistant was cute as and Samantha''s ring was just YUM

.

I liked how it all panned out and I love that Carrie got married to Big everyone deserves a happy ending.

I really wanted to enjoy this movie, and I did, but it was disappointing.

I liked it because it was Sex and the City but it seemed that somebody made a movie like so many replica bags - ''in the likeness of sex and the city, the series''.

I felt was inconsistent, lacked any character development and took cheap shots for the cheap seats. Oh and speaking of the audience, I was shocked at the tarted up women who attended and laughed too loudly - at everything. They were hyped up to see the movie and determined to love it. On the other hand while I did enjoy it I felt that the scenes were disjointed. Like it was actually 5 episodes mashed into a movie. I loved that they continued on from the last season with the gut and heart wrenching emotions of a real relationship but disliked when the audience laughed at the comic relief moments. For example when Charlotte defends Carrie after the wedding and tells Big to sod off, that was a wonderful moment of friendship, but the audience took to laughing their heads off at the comic moment of charlotte teetering back to the car. It ruined the sentiment for me. Another example, when Carrie is heartbroken (who hasn’t been there at least once) and sleeps in the honeymoon suite, Samantha feeds her breakfast, I felt it was another wonderful tender moment and the blasted audience was roaring with laughter.

May i mention, in my theatre it was rated 15A, so children under 15 could attend with an adult - i saw kids in there no more that 10. That film has more than one nudie shot and more than a few references to sex, not to mention a full frontal of the man next door to Samantha - showering. I felt it was inappropriate for kiddiewinks.

As a viewer i felt pressured to want Miranda to forgive Steve, I didn’t like that angle. Yes, couples cheat IRL and yes something they get over it but I felt that the film angled for us (me) to think that she over-reacted. Maybe if it were real life she did, maybe not. I worry that kids/young women/older women watch that and feel pressure to forgive infidelity. Worse- that men think, well she forgave what’s his name on sex and the city, so she will forgive me.

I did enjoy watching Charlotte on the big screen and i felt that her character shone the most even though she had a crappy part.

Oh I hated Samantha''s ''weight gain''. Talk about instant plot. They shoved that into the script pretty quick and in two scenes she was comfort eating- hey presto. No subtleties. Wham bam than you Mam. Didn’t they have time to work that into the plot a bit better? As an aside - i bet Kim Cattrall hated that part of the script....

And I hated the suite she got married in.... I felt it was out of character. Boo.

Finally, I am still disgusted at the product placement. Yeah we get it.... Enough...Stop....I mean it...noooo more product placement.......

And i hope every twit in Ireland does not rush to LV, not many ladies wear LV here and I hope it stays that way, else I need to find another bag brand and pronto......

Well that’s all folks...0.02

Po - Jamie Oliver has crossed the pond! He''s big over here now too cuz Oprah LOVES him. He was part of her "Big Give" show and is a guest every now and then :)

Okay, I loved the movie and I really want to go again -

but I thought the acting in the first 30 mins was awful. The first 5 was ridiculously bad, but the characters just didn''t feel natural. Everything seemed so forced - even Charlotte screaming at Big seemed like over-acting to me. The turning point for me was when Carrie looked into the mirror without makeup. I felt like the acting got so much better after that.

Was really surprised about Char "Char-ing" her pants - but it makes sense.

I was also really disturbed by Samantha being "fat." I''ve tolerated SJP''s tiny body and managed to keep up a positive self-image despite it ;), but I was REALLY upset that the ladies called out Sam like that. One of my girlfriends pointed out that weight gain for a NY socialite IS a big deal..but I thought that part was really irresponsible of the SATC gang to do, knowing that every woman on earth went out to see that movie.

I know I'm super late to this thread--I just saw the movie today. I have absolutely nothing to add that other's haven't already---I pretty much agree with everybody. I wish Carrie had said "enough" after Big humiliated her, I wish Charlotte's character hadn't been so flakey and more maternal, I hated Samatha's dog (but thought she had the best lines of the movie) and I did get goosebumps during the whole street showdown between Carrie and Big (I can't call him John, I just can't), especially when Charlotte really stood up for Carrie.

There was one part I really loved, though, which hasn't been mentioned and that is when Samantha spoon fed Carrie in Mexico. It may have seen a little over the top for one friend to literally feed another, but I teared up, anyway. I think you can get to a point where you are so heartbroken that even small tasks seemingly require too much energy and I loved that Sam was doing something so caring.

It was great to see all the characters again...even though some plot lines disappointed, I still loved it.

ETA: Did anybody else see the little snippet in US Weekly this week about how Carrie and Big's apartment would cost around $23 million, that Jennifer Hudson's "Love" keychain actually costs more than the monogrammed LV purse she received as a gift, that wedding ceremonies can't be held at the New York library (nor can you check out books) and how Carrie's "label-less" suit was a Christian Dior suit? There were some other things in there, but I can't remember.

I''m late to this thread too. I just got to see the movie yesterday. I wasn''t able to go out all week because I was on the mend from surgery.

As much as I was disappointed in some parts as other posters have mentioned....... the disjointed nature of some personal relationships like Charlotte''s with her little girl, the one thing that drove me nuts was the make-up on ALL of them! Who the heck did their make-up? Hideously over done. They alll looked like pancaked old women (which they''re not). Even Big''s lips.
Why were they so red? It looked odd. The film quality was also lacking. It didn''t look video-taped, but it didn''t look like film either. It had a tacky under exposed old grainy film quality to it.

Also, some of the trailers were better than those same parts in the film, like when Carrie drops her cell phone at the Library when she finds out that Big wasn''t coming. It was dramatic in the trailers, not so much in the movie. It was filmed at a different speed for the trailers.

Despite ALL that, I''m going to see it again as soon as I can because I want to really enjoy the good parts!

For me, the most touching scene was the mirror scene when they arrived in Mexico. I was shocked that SJP genuinely did look like she''d been crying. No ''pretty crier'' make-up there! That moment was very true for me, and I welled up.

I enjoyed the rest of it, but it wasn''t the best girly film I''ve ever seen etc. But then I was never addicted to the TV show either. Enjoyable, rather than amazing.

Oh and we had the dressed-to-the-nines brigade in my cinema too. At least no-one laughed at the sad moments. Or if they did, I didn''t notice

Absolutely LOVED the movie! Funny and sad!!
