For my 30th I went to Cancun with my girls. We had a great time! Ordinarily I am not a big birthday person. I am quite content with playing it low-key on birthdays, but I saw 30 as a bit different. I went to a 30th birthday "celebration" for a friend of mine the year before I turned 30. At that celebration she did the same thing that she had done just about every other year (by default) have a cake with her parents. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but I knew that she did not want to be spending her 30th that way. And it got me to thinking that I wanted to spend my birhtday doing exactly what I wanted so I started planning early. And on that day I was with my best friends...so I was happy!

OMG! I was sooooooooooo excited! I partied for 2 day straight! Next year will be the big 35 and I can''t wait! My advice is to party like there is no tomorrow. Also if you feel good and look good be grateful!

Turning 30 is a wonderful time and you should enjoy every moment of it! I turned 50 earlier this year and was kind of depressed until the day passed and then I thought "hey I''m not too bad for an old broad" and got on with it!!! There are worse things than getting older.

I loved turning 30..... I loved it even MORE turning 35!!! Now that I am 35.... I look forward to 40 & 45 !!!!!!!

Age is just a number. It''s how you really feel inside that shows thru your appearance. My husband says I will always be a kid and he is right about that. It''s just NO FUN to grow up...!!!!!

When I turned 30 my friends and I acted 17 and were crazy. Started with a house party, then we went to a restaurant for dinner and more drinks, went dancing and then went to a men''s strip club! (hey, something crazy to do) One of my friends bought me a lap dance, the guys wanted us to go on stage and it was the most hilarious, nutty night I''ve had since college. This Saturday I turn 34 and just finished school so I''m ready to party again! I love it- now when I go out, I can let loose but know how to get out of any trouble, unlike when I was 20. Also, it''s great that I still get carded and co-workers don''t believe how old I am (most of them are students and think I''m about 23). I warned my BF that I will always be 12 in spirit and love Hello Kitty no matter how old I am.

Hamster- I''m the opposite! I plan on getting tattoo #4 soon.

I''m 43 and just glad that between Demi Moore & the Desperate Housewives, 40 is the "new 30!!"....Ha,ha. Can''t remember what I did for my 30th, but for some reason 35 hit me hard....I couldn''t get it out of my mind that I was 1/2 way to 70!!

My birthday came and went...and I had a fabulous day!

First thing in the morning my fiance surprised me with my gift all wrapped up on the seat of my car! (I''ll get to that later in the post)

I''m a middle school band teacher and my students were "warned" that they had to be nice to me because it was my birthday. Two of my saxophonists serenaded me with "Happy Birthday" which actually had my eyes welling up in tears because it was so sweet. They even got most of the notes right!

My students were all very cheery today, no behavior problems at all, everyone in a good mood...didn''t even have to raise my voice for a thing.

When I got home from school, my fiance had taped up a "Happy Birthday" sign on the wall and had a spread of my favorite things. My favorite candles, a picture of the two of us, gummy bears (my favorite candy), a mini cheesecake and tiramisu. Also on the table were two birthday cards...one from him and one from my dog Jelly. Please tell me I''m not the only one to receive birthday cards from a pet!

After spending an hour or so talking to friends on the phone, I took a short nap. My fiance woke me up and said, "will you go out to dinner with me?" It was my choice so I suggested going to a new steakhouse restaurant in town called Ruth''s Chris Steakhouse. He called them up to make reservations and unfortunately they didn''t have any openings till 8:45pm. No problem, the mall was next door and we went shopping to kill time. One mandatory store in the mall was Godiva for a quick chocolate fix...They were even giving out free samples!! WOOHOO!! Pumpkin, cheescake, milk chocolates...different but DE-Licous! Next stop, the Origins store, where I was given a mailer for $10 off any purchase! New perfume, woohoo!

Dinner review: For those of you who have never been to Ruth''s Chris Steakhouse, I highly recommend it for a special occassion. Definitely too expensive to eat there every week, but hey, you only turn 30 once, right? We had to wait an hour for the main course to arrive (ugh) but I must admit it was worth every minute!

Now to the good part! Here''s my birthday jewelry....a green amethyst necklace I was eyeing this weekend! It''s square but I believe it''s a cushion cut with a checkerboard top. Sorry, probably messed up the description. It''s a minty green color. I love it!!!!

I totally get birthday cards and xmas cards from my dog. In fact, when my mother receives a birthday card it''s from me, him and ''the boys'' (the cat and the dog.)

For my 30th my bf was very ill and fell asleep on the couch

He woke up around midnight to give me my gifts - a thick fluffy white bathrobe and perfume. The following Friday my aunt and uncle were in town from Arizona so we were off to go out to eat but first we were going to stop to see my brother at work since they were only in town for the night. My brother DJ''s weddings part time so we were going to sneak in while he was still setting up. We walk into the banquet hall and

Here''s my story a little late:

I celebrated my 30th at home with my husband, my baby boy and a handful of close friends. My hubby threw the BBQ get-together. We ate, drank and had a lot of fun. I was at a great place in my life with a new home, a new job, and new baby, so I didn''t have time to dread the big 30! I remember having a harder time turning 25 because I was stuck at a dead-end job with a dead-beat boyfriend....but that''s another story.
